This approach is damaging because it doesn’t allow room for how we genuinely feel & it further re-enforces the lie that we shouldn’t feel bad or we shouldn’t experience negative emotions, which simply isn't true. The positive reframe is acknowledging what’s going on - what feels true for you & exploring what else you know to be true through a more encouraging & supportive lens. Like being at home - you feel comfortable in your own home environment we have emotions in our body that feel comfortable. Even if this emotional emotional comfort zone (CZ) is hurting you your subconscious brain will keep leading you back to it because it’s most familiar, it is what you know. It's a habit. If your emotional CZ is different to what you need to feel in order to attain your goals then you will experience self-sabotage. Self sabotage = self protection In order to change your emotional CZ you must practice how you want to feel. Whilst reminding yourself that you are safe & that you have your own back.
