Cynthia's marriage is failing due to being unable to conceive and also because both her and her husband are Type-A to the extreme. In a last ditch effort to save their marriage they concoct a plan to get their friends together and go to a resort called Eden, where world class therapists, food, adventures and fun await. While their friends are hesitant about the therapy portion of the resort, they do all go to the island together. At dinner that night everyone realizes - as a hardbound agenda is passed around - that the bulk of their time will be spent in therapy and other relationship building programs. Only Cynthia and Jason are excited about this. Because they are both so afraid of failure and imperfection - they have come prepared with lists of their issues, what they believe they should work on and what they'd like the end result to be. Their therapist sees right through this and eventually gets them to name their emotions. Cynthia feels judged. From that moment on their relationship is strained throughou

Earth, which has been turned into a junkyard by all the rich people who live in the clouds, is where she meets Astro Boy, a misfit metro city drop out. He fits right in with Cora and her band of dirty scavengers, and helps them rebuild a giant robot named Zog. However, Hamegg the leader of the orphans, reveals Astro Boy to be a robot and Cora is betrayed. Beth is a type A older sister with a distaste for love. When her younger sister has a shotgun wedding in Rome, Beth heads there reluctantly. She is more concerned with her upcoming art show than her sister's sudden nuptials. During the wedding, sparks fly between Beth and Nick, the best man. Just when Beth is about to take a chance on the attraction, she spies Nick with a saucy Italian woman in a red dress and she gives up on the notion completely and finishes out the night alone, in a city fountain, downing a bottle of wine. In her despair, she plucks several coins from the fountain and unknowingly curses herself with a love spell that binds the casters of the coins to her. She thought her days of greasy bangs, pimples and general awkwardness were over until her brother shocks her with the news that he is marrying Joanna - you guessed it - the tormentor of her formative years. Marni decides that the best tactic is to just address their old issues head on but is shocked when Joanna claims to have no memory of her. Marni spends the week leading up to the wedding suffering one humiliation after another at the hands of Joanna until finally she leverages (in the middle of the rehearsal dinner) an old high school tape of Joanna showing her true colors. Her brother is disgusted with both of them and Marni realizes that her underhanded trick with the tape was just as bad as Joanna's own behavior. Belinda is a nice woman who lives in a cute house in the Pacific Northwest. One day, a mysterious woman knocks on her door and questions Belinda on Kenneth, a past love interest. Or friend. Belinda seems embarrassed by the questions, and defensively tells the other woman that Kenneth wasn't the type of guy to bring around friends and family because he was odd. In fact, she tells the other woman, she hasn't seen Kenneth since he crashed into her front lawn a few years back. Jill Jerard is a news anchor trying to catch her big break. She's hungry for the story that will push her to the big leagues so when an opportunity presents itself to head up to the top of the world to cover a story, she is the first to volunteer. The story she is sent to cover is about 3 grey whales trapped in the ice and unable to migrate south for the winter. Once in Alaska, Jill has to contend with the weather, the opportunistic youth and Adam, the reporter who sparked the world's interest in the story. Everything is going smoothly for Jill until her coarse, professional attitude puts her at odds with Adam and the emotion surrounding the story of the trapped whale family. That's okay though because Jill only has to put in another half decade of work before she finally makes it!
