    Frontier, a magazine, design studio, and ventures group, has designed what they are claiming to be the 'World's Best Tuque'.  Creators of the tuque claim that they, "have created a tuque that we believe could be the world’s best.The result is a product conceived over 18 months of research and development. It is an exploration of Canadian history, material science, fabrication techniques, production processes, and economic systems." It has been tested by Zamboni drivers, butchers, and backcountry hikers, but Frontier says that the hat is perfect for anyone. Despite the almost $200 price tag, the tuque has already sold-out online, and is not taking pre-order requests for the tuque. Paddy Harrington and Paul Kawai, from Frontier, join Kelly Cutrara to discuss what exactly went into the design process to declare their winter product as the "World's Best Tuque".

    In the heated debate over teams with indigenous names and logos, one Mississauga team is keen on keeping theirs, and have gone about it the right way to secure a blessing from the First Nations. The Mississauga Chiefs, who play in the Mississauga Girls Hockey League, have had the name since the team’s debut. Their logo, an arrowhead, was designed more recently after a discussion with the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. The Chiefs were among five hockey teams in Mississauga cited in a complaint to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario over team names and logos deemed “racially insensitive.” New Credit Chief, Stacey Laforme, was involved in the discussion that saw the logo change, from a chief's head to an arrowhead, and is supportive of the team's new direction. Stacey Laforme joined host Kelly Cutrara to discuss the change, and why the New Credit Chief gave the Mississauga Chiefs their blessing.

    Halton police have laid 447 alcohol-related charges and issued 167 roadside suspensions this year, which, according to police, is a number that is much too high. This weekend, officers will join with MADD Canada representatives visit bars and restaurants throughout Milton and Halton Hills, and will be implementing volunteer breathalyzers to bring about awareness to the weekend campaign. Patrons will be provided with information pertaining to legislation changes that took effect October 2 that extends license suspensions, vehicle impoundment and remedial measures to those found driving while impaired by drugs. Sergeant Paul Ruddle, of the Halton Hills Police Department, joins the Kelly Cutrara Show to discuss the weekend campaign, and what they hope to achieve.

    An Ottawa father is accusing the Canada Revenue Agency of jumping to outdated conclusions when it decided his common-law wife should receive the child benefits for his two sons. The two sons were from a previous relationship. Jason Beaudoin says the CRA has assumed his live-in partner is the boys' primary caregiver, because the agency told him he needs her permission in order to have the Canada child benefit payments made out to him instead. Jason Beaudoin joins Kelly Cutrara, to dicuss the policies already in place, and how Beaudoin plans to challenge the CRA.

    Citizenship applications have plummeted because of increasing fees, and for the second year in a row, the number of people applying for citizenship has gone down. Factors include increasing international tensions, and stronger immigration regulations, but the biggest factor is cost. Unless you have a burning desire to become a Canadian citizen, not many people have the amount of money that is neccessary to even apply.  The government is saying that the fees for the application are merely administrative fees, but the cost continues to rise.     The federal government has announced it will introduce legislative amendments this fall to regulate e-cigarettes in Canada. The anticipated move comes after several provinces have already passed laws banning the sale of e-cigarettes to minors and the use of vaping products in public places. Health Canada said the move will balance the need to protect young people from nicotine addiction while allowing adult smokers to buy vaping products and e-cigarettes legally to help them quit smoking or as a potentially less harmful alternative to tobacco. E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices designed to look like traditional cigarettes. They use liquid-filled cartridges, often containing nicotine, that is vaporized when a user inhales. Shai Bekman, from Dash Vapes, discusess with Kelly Cutrara the pros and cons of these new legislations from the perespective of a shop owner. The new legislation could mean that potential consumers would not be able to sample the flavours before buying.
