U of T Professor, Jordan Peterson, on why he won't use "preferred" gender pronouns - November 4th, 2016
04/11/2016 Duración: 16minWhile the politically correct, or PC, movement has gained footing in most facets of modern day society, it doesn't mean we should be complacent as citizens to follow suit. Jordan Peterson surely wont be, specifically when it comes to "preferred" gendered pronouns. University of Toronto professor, Jordan Peterson, has gone on the record, and even written a news article for the Toronto Sun, on "Why I won’t use ‘preferred’ pronouns – and why you shouldn’t either". Peterson has come under fire for a series of videos he made, entitled "Professor against political correctness". Peterson drew some criticism for voicing his frustrations for the Ontario Human Rights Commission’s definition of “gender identity,” which is described as a person’s “sense of being a woman, a man, both, neither, or anywhere along the gender spectrum.” “I don’t know what ‘neither’ means,” Peterson says in the video, “because I don’t know what the options are if you’re not a man or a woman. 14 pedestrians struck by cars since Wednesday night, Police Constable Clint Stibbe discusses - November 3rd 2016
03/11/2016 Duración: 09minIn already a record year for auto/pedestrian collisions, another staggering statistic was added over the course of Wednesday night/Thursday morning: Fourteen pedestrians were struck by cars between 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, said Toronto police Const. Clint Stibbe. One incident sent an 18-year-old man to hospital with serious injuries. The crash happenedjust before 7:30 a.m. at Islington Ave. and The Queensway. Another woman suffered life-threatening injuries in another collision on College St. near Palmerston Blvd. around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Another pedestrian who was struck by a different vehicle at the intersection was also taken to hospital, said Toronto police. Soggy conditions in the GTA overnight were likely a factor in many of the collisions, says Toronto Police. Toronto Police Constable, Clint Stibbe, joins the Afternoon Drive to discuss why there were so many collisions, and what the city plans to do to prevent these kinds of collisions from taking place.

New Oshawa regulations could disturb Designated Driver programs, says Donna Sabo - November 1st, 2016
01/11/2016 Duración: 10minNew regulations on the designated driver industry set to come into effect in 2017 could mean there will soon be more drunk drivers on the road in Oshawa, driving company owners warn. The new regulations are seeing some backlash from the designated driving-companies that say many of the changes are unnecessary, and will make it harder to find drivers. However, city officials are claiming that they’re only looking to make sure the services are safe to use. The new bylaw requires that drivers are at least 25 years old, are affiliated with a licensed designated driving broker, and have a “G” driver’s license. Drivers must also provide a Criminal Information Report with Vulnerable Sector Screening, a driver’s abstract (record), and a city-approved medical clearance letter. As well as the previously mentioned regulations, designated drivers will also have to get explicit permission to drive a client’s car, can only drive people back who came to a site in that particular vehicle, must see a current permit and ins
