  • Episode 141: A Conversation with Kelli

    18/03/2021 Duración: 45min

In this Trailercast conversation you get to listen in as I talk with Kelli. When we were first supposed to record, technology did its thing and we ended up having to reschedule. But, I am so excited for you to hear what happened in the in-between from when we were supposed to record, and when we actually did. About the growth that Kelli experienced.  How does looking in the shower and seeing soap lead to a transformation? Kelli shares the most relatable story and so much more. Quarantine, worthiness, the mother/daughter relationship, parenting and a true mirror… we hit on it all. There is so much beautiful and truth in this conversation. My hope is that you can find yourself in her story and claim the truth that Kelli has shared with us here. You ARE worthy.  Cheers. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/trailercast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/trailercast/support

  • Trailercast Episode 140 - You are the one holding the pen

    04/03/2021 Duración: 27min

As I have been writing my book, feels so weird to even say that, I have noticed there are some major gaps in what I needed to hear growing up. Good news, I am the one writing the story this time, the one holding the pen. So I can say those things, so can you. This episode weaves through some of the ideas behind therapy and how it functions, early messaging and how to shift roles in your story. I also share with you some statements or declarations of things I have been holding on to as I write that might be something you try on for yourself. I hope you feel and know in your bones that everything belongs, every story deserves sunshine, you are the one holding the pen.  If you are interested in doing your own narrative work with me, I have a few spots left for the private retreats I host, all information can be found on my website: www.elysesnipes.com/weekends  Cheers! • Episode 139: A Conversation with Sophie

    18/02/2021 Duración: 01h04min

Welcome to another Trailercast conversation! This is a special episode, and I am so excited to share it with you. In this episode, I’m talking with Sophie.  Right off the bat I can tell you this; Sophie is a powerhouse. She wrote into the show wanting to process through, in her own words, “navigating shame, resilience and uncertainty in a time of great personal growth and transformation, especially as a young person in today’s society.” Throughout our conversation we tackle imposter syndrome, self-doubt and how to identify the inner critic. We talk about trusting our gut and our knowing, and the importance of sharing our stories. Listen in and hear how Sophie has learned to sit in the driver’s seat of her own life, and hear a young woman living into her own freedom and autonomy. My hope is that you leave this conversation knowing that we need you and your story too. Your life is essential and your story is essential. We have so much to learn from one another. 11/02/2021 Duración: 55min

When I started Trailercast, I wasn’t really sure what it was going to become. It was a creative outlet for me, and I knew that I loved it, but what I have really been so blown away by is how it has become a pretty amazing piece of connection to others. • Episode 137: A Conversation with Rachel

    04/02/2021 Duración: 50min

In this episode of Trailercast we continue our conversations series with a very special mama who lives on the other side of the world.  I had the privilege of sitting down and talking with Rachel, all the way in New Zealand, about what happens when you get the kind of news that you never hope to get. What happens when the thing that you never thought could happen, happens. Right before the pandemic hit Rachel’s five year old son was diagnosed with leukemia. This is such an important conversation for anyone and everyone. My hope is that listening to Rachel share about her experience will ignite the empath in all of us, and teach us better how to sit with hard things well. Rachel, thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for your courage and vulnerability, and for teaching us a better way to support the ones we love when the hard news hits close to home. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/trailercast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/trailercast/support

  • Episode 135: Death, Ashes and Hope

    21/01/2021 Duración: 22min

One of the things that I have been practicing in 2021 is showing up in a pretty real and raw form. And I sense that we are all craving that authenticity these days. In this episode, join me as I process through something that happened last week, the memories and emotions that it triggered, and the beautiful truth that emerged as I worked through it. Here we are going to be talking about what we are holding. We are going to be talking about death and grieving. And we are going to be talking about what is preventing us from actually receiving the thing that we need. The thing that is good and true and ours. Join me in asking the question, “What is it that you are holding onto, and what might you be missing receiving because of that?”  What beauty might occur if we could let go? • Episode 134: Making Adult Friends

    14/01/2021 Duración: 36min

We’re back! Welcome to the first episode of Trailercast in 2021. We did it. We made it to the new year. Last week I reached out to my Instagram community and asked “What would you like more of in 2021?” and one theme that came up time and time again was friendship. Adult friendships. How to make new friends as adults, how to navigate tricky friendship dynamics as adults, and to nourish and care for adult friendships, when there are so many more demands on our time than there was when we were younger. So in this episode, as a fellow sojourner,  I touch on just that! And not only I dive into the topic of friendship, I also do some checking-in, reflecting, dreaming and offer a bit of encouragement as we step into this new season. 10/12/2020 Duración: 01h16min

In this episode of Trailercast I have the privilege of sitting down with Dr. Tracy Cooper, PhD, alongside my friend Andy Lara, and interviewing him on what it means to be a Highly Sensitive Person. We discuss what the experience is of someone living as a highly sensitive person, what that even means, how to understand it for yourself, and as a partner, friend or as a parent of a someone with high sensitivity.  And in addition to giving great information on HSPs, this episode also highlights how helpful it is when we are given the right language for our lived experience. How it can set us free to discover that we are not alone in the way we process the world. This episode gives a great example about what can happen when people get curious about their own human experience, and all the different ways that we get to be free. • Episode 131: A Conversation with Naomi

    03/12/2020 Duración: 52min

This episode is a special one, because I get to sit down and have a conversation with a long-time Trailercast listener and OG Weekends participant. Namoi and I talk all about change, Weekends and some of the unexpected gifts that the COVID shutdown has brought. We talk about career, and knowing when it’s time to stay or time to move onto something new. We talk about the idea of possibility, and the energy that the “maybes” can open up for us. How do we honor a need for structure and stability, along side a wild spirit? We also talk about the double edge sword of awareness. How when we do enough of our own work and become aware of our own “stuff,” it can be both liberating and at times exhausting. How do we receive the invitation of awareness without also RSVPing to shame? How do we move from awareness into action and liberation? Part of my main focus is helping women stand in their own power and be witnessed. To hold up a mirror and reflect back all that glory. This is part of the work of Weekends. If you’ve

Welcome to today’s episode! I am so honored to share my conversation with my friend Leith McHugh with you. Wisdom that was hard won, and comes from real, raw life experience. I knew that I had to have Leith on to share her story with you. At times it all feels impossible to navigate, and Leith’s story reminds us that even when it feels like we are in the shore pound and it just doesn’t stop, maybe there is something we can do about it. She shares with us the way that her family, in the midst of immense loss and pain, stopped and rebooted their lives completely. I hope you are ready, because this Trailercast conversation is fire! We jump right in, and I’m so glad you get to listen in on this important work. I’m still reeling from how incredible it was to watch this amazing woman step into her power and strength.  In this conversation, we talk about our stories of origin and the way that we often choose the familiar story, though it often no longer serves us. How to recognize what is not ours to carry in the first place. In this episode you get to listen in as my friend embarks on the heroine’s journey. A shared journey. 02/10/2020 Duración: 49min

In this episode of Trailercast I get to sit down and talk to my good friend Brit Barron. Brit is an author, speaker, pastor, anti-racist educator and her first book Worth It is out now! Brit grew up in an Evangelical megachurch in the '90s, trying to fit neatly inside the boundaries her church and its narrow view of God had placed around her. She was boxed in by her fears, unable to realize her full potential. All that changed when she met a girl named Sami, fell in love, and chose to leave behind those narrow boundaries in favor of a fuller and more vibrant life. In Worth It, Brit tells her story to inspire all of us to overcome our own fears--the kinds of fears that keep us from evolving beyond the narratives that have been handed to us by others. We can't avoid or outrun these fears, but if we face them, we'll find out that it was so worth it. In this episode of Trailercast, you get to hear a sneak peak into Chapter 7, and listen in to us discuss the way that our lives intersected in such a way that brough
