Kevin starts the episode by talking about the report that MLB and the MLBPA recently had face to face discussions on the beginnings of a new CBA. The big news to come out of the meeting is MLB offering to lower the Luxury Tax as well as raise the penalties, for exceeding the limits. MLB also offered to implement a Salary Floor, or minimum a team needs to spend on its roster. This is a robin hood style suggestion of taking from the rich to give to the poor. This is not going to go over well with the MLBPA. Kevin then discusses the latest news and notes happening around the league this week. He talks about everything from Shohei Ohtani, to Freddie Freeman, to Jake Arrieta, to Cole Hamels, and more! Tyler Gilbert in his first career MLB start was able to no-hit a Padres team with a fantastic lineup. Kevin dives into how he was able to get it done, and how luck was on his side for most of the night. Kevin then talks about which team has the most pressure on it to make the postseason this year. At the top of the list are the Padres and Phillies. The Phillies have the second-longest playoff drought in baseball, and the Padres spent all this money and made major moves in the offseason. The Baltimore Orioles used to be the best franchise in baseball thanks to their beliefs and system in the organization. Patrick spends the first two segments talking about the history of the O's. Their system was flawless for many years, and it won them a few World Series' because of it. The organization believed that "perfect practice makes perfect" and that they wanted every player in their system to be able to be called up. Kevin starts the episode by giving his condolences to the J.R. Richard family. The baseball world lost another great this past week when he passed away at the age of 71. J.R. Richard's career was cut short by a stroke during his age 30 season in 1980. Kevin talks about how he could have been one of the best pitchers of all time if this unfortunate event had not occured. Kevin then discusses the NL East and how things have changed drastically in the last two weeks. The Phillies are now in first place, 2 games ahead of the second-place Braves, with the free-falling Mets all the way in third at 2.5 games back. Kevin starts the episode by talking about how we are underway here in trade season for 2021. The Atlanta Braves started us off by adding two veterans on expiring contracts to their roster. Joc Pederson and Stephen Vogt are now Braves. The entire NL East is in "Buy" mode due to the fact that no one has been able to run away with this division. Kevin then gives his Farm System Rankings following the 2021 Draft. The top teams remain pretty consistent due to the top-level talent in the organizations but the movement really came in the middle part of the rankings. Did your team rise or fall in the rankings? Kevin wraps up the show discussing the games from this weekend and talking about the standings. Two out of three of the National Leagues divisions are up for grabs and the race should go down to the wire. The American League East and West also look to be up for grabs.

All-Star Weekend is over, and with the end of an amazing weekend comes the abysmal chaos of the trade deadline. One of the best trades that the Texas Rangers ever made, even though it was during the offseason, was Josh Hamilton. The former #1 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays has had a very up and down life. From being on top of the world to rock bottom, repeat, Patrick goes over Josh Hamilton's story in the first segment of today's episode. Patrick then goes into a lot of trade talk, from whether a team is a buyer or seller, to what players may be on the move for segments 2 and 3.
