In this episode of "The River" we hear of the 7.  7 is heard over and over in the book of Revelation.  We aren't to get caught up in the details and miss the big picture of it all.  Sometimes we don't know what the numbers mean, and sometimes we do.  In this section of scripture we see 7 churches, 7 spirits, and now there are 7 descriptions of Jesus in this section.  Grab your bible and lets go through them together!  Find out which one is the favorite of Pastor Kevin!

Welcome to our series of Revelation.  In this intro we look to the Author and the time and setting of the book.  Who wrote it and where.  John the youngest apostle from the Island of Patmos wrote this book.  After being boiled alive and by God's providence, still living.  This apostle is exiled to the slave island where he has the visions found in this book.  Grab your bible and lets study what the Alpha and Omega is saying to his Church!!

Therefore is the first word we look at in this section.  It's there because we use it as a hindge to open the next.  The things in the previous section will give us strength for the long road ahead.  If your shoulders are slumped and your arms are tired, knees wobbly and your hips are out of joint.  This section is for you.  The weary runner.  Grab your bible and lets study together!

Join us as we un-pack 1 Samuel 22 together.  This chapter tells us how far Saul has fallen, how God has turned him over to his own lusts.  God is not obligated to save anyone!  The fact that anyone is saved shows that God is full of grace!  In this chapter we take notice how Saul treats the men of God, and how David treats them.  Grab your bible and lets study together!

This week as we cover the book of 1 Samuel we examine the king Saul and his spiritual experience.   The spirit moves on Saul, but the spirit wasn't in Saul.  He lays at the feet of Samuel after he rides into town to kill David.  However God moves.  Thankfully God moves on Saul and causes him to lay at the feet of the prophet.  Soon a rumor begins about Saul... "Is Saul among the prophets?"  It was said as sarcasm because his life didn't line up to the fact that he laid on the alter a few times because of a move of God.  Judas in comparison was a Preacher and spoke boldly.  A theologian, and yet was lost.  Even though he walked with Jesus, he didn't trust Jesus.  It may not look like it really is.  Join us as we examine these things!

Do you have faith or do you simply assume that God is good and will lump you in with the good guys allowing you into heaven?  Do you have a personal faith in the one who saves sinners?  Looking at the text in this section we see where the children of Israel walk across the Red sea on dry land, because God held it in place.  The Egyptian army tried to follow because they "assumed" that God would hold it in place for them.  Soon they would find out that they should never assume anything, because they had no faith in this God, but only assumed that he was kind.  Do you follow the path of the Egyptians?  Grab your bible and lets study together!!!
