It’s November. It’s not super nasty out, so any decent day is a win. Isabelle has been super busy arting. I’m in that sort of calm before the storm part of the term. Isabelle managed to buy clothes at the store in the time between me getting to the checkout and paying. It was impressive. We might be buying a fake Christmas tree, which will end our Christmas tree episodes….

We had a big trip this week. Not to bury the lede, but there are now two Dr.s Brodbeck in the family. Our drive was eventful. On the way home we ate Chinese food in a gas station parking lot. We’re very proud of Maddie. We’re very proud of Jon too, he was great at home giving out candy and all of that. As usual Isabelle has art stuff coming up and I have teaching stuff.

Is that the title of a Star Trek Episode? I know there’s a Tomorrow is Yesterday and All our Yesterdays. The title refers to the fact that we recorded this on Friday, but I’m putting it out on Saturday. I’m writing this on Saturday, but we recoded this yesterday, so I can’t remember everything we talked about. I know we talked about a couple of tragedies that have happened recently. We also talked about Maddie’s upcoming PhD defence. Friday shopping, might be ok. Oh you might hear a little Jon in the background

Let’s start off by saying that Isabelle got a big award this week! You can hear her acceptance speech in this episode. It was nice that people from the U, including the president, were there. It’s hard being a one person anything. A little cool today.

Nice day today, 8C, clear, though windy. Isabelle’s hair makes punctuation. Isabelle got some arm warmers which, I didn’t know were a thing. Not too busy today, I guess everyone was burnt out from thanksgiving or something.. We had friends over! Oh and some really bad stuff happened to our neighbours. We’re thinking of them.

Maybe this should have been last week’s title. Also, this is likely the earliest in an episode where we have come up with a title. OK, the heat wave is over, it is 9 degrees out. Also it is grey. I think I may take my bike in. Isabelle didn’t get a grant, ahh well, can’t win ‘em all, but it’s nice if you can. It’s the break week!

Relatively quiet week. It’s still sorta warm, it’s weird. Rainy though a bit. There’s a test in one of my classes next week. Jon is still doing great in my class. We went to a dinner, it was fun, until the line dancing started. Event planning is not a one person job.

Isabelle is back from her trip to Ottawa. Jon and I had a good week while she was away. It’s super warm out. Isabelle met a Senator. We’re going to a Franco thing tomorrow. Not Francisco Franco you idiots…

We went early this week, Isabelle has a thing at noon. So it’s the first week, well the first real week of the term. It’s fine, everything is fine… Isabelle was on tv this week! Jon seems to be enjoying my classes. Nice day today, might get a ride in. It’s been decent out all week really.

It’s quite nice out. It’s the first week of school. So I had classes. Jon came. Isabelle has been painting. Doors. In hour house. Something happened before we started recording and we aren’t telling you about it. I got one of my two favourite cashiers. The air conditioners are coming out, Jon is not too please about that, but you can’t have them in forever.

I know I typed something into the Backpack studio notes, alas, I have nothing. It’s the last long weekend of the summer. Because of that, it was a bit nuts at the store. I ran into Brandon, a colleague in biology. Isabelle is setting up an exhibition today. There will be an art talk next week, here is a link to Isa’s micro gallery’s instagram page. It’s going to get warm, I think I’ll watch Baa Baa Black Sheep and take notes while raging out in the backyard.

Nice day today, somewhat cooler, fall is coming. We went to a wedding. They had a cool ‘giveaway’ thing. This, as with the tea ceremony from June, should be added to all weddings. Isabelle has two short films in a film festival in Toronto! Isabelle has been making ink. Yo, Anglo media, she’s right here…

Nice day today. You might say it’s a nice day for a …… It’s been super windy, so much so that I haven’t ridden my bike. Oh and I broke a spoke this week. We’re off to Sean and Ray’s wedding today. I can’t remember the last complete wedding thing I went to. Isabelle went to a pretty cool art show last night.

The weather is a bit gross, but, we had fun. I needed new bike tires (photo attached). ISABELLE GOT A GIANT GRANT!! Congratulations to her. She will do some great things with the support. Isabelle also made a song for today. Plus we needed gas, which I know you all find quite exciting.

Jon came with us today to buy some clothes. He didn’t say much. Isabelle went to a drawing club. There was pizza at the drawing club that is pretty great. Store was a bit nuts, as it is a long weekend. I believe civic holiday is the day we celebrate the Honda Civic. Really nice day today.

Holy crap we’ve done 500 of these things! We just got back from MMPR 23. Isabelle saw some great art stuff. It was great seeing Anth and Jay and Dude and Yooper and Candace and Jasen with an E and Stephanie and Oliver. (I probably missed someone, don’t really care….) We went to an 80s themed restaurant, which, if it existed in the 80s. Jon stayed here in the Sault and did great.

We’ve almost done 500 of these. Also, we started podcasting on July 29, 2005, so this is an anniversary show of sorts. No you can’t find the old ones. Mike Mussel visited! We’re on our way to MMPR tomorrow. It’s at least a thousand degrees. Went to the LCBO today, bag.

An early one today as Isabelle has a thing. Isabelle is fixing her bunnies that were vandalized. Very nice day today! Most young people, when they are bored, don’t wreck things. I told the story of the refreshing rotisserie chicken, which I may have done before but I don’t care. What did you pay for this anyway?

Another grey day. Hey, it’s time for summer festivals! We have one going on right now in town Isabelle did a cool collaboration with a slam poet. We’ve been biking. The weather might be nice or it might be a storm, who knows? There were tornadoes this week in Ottawa and outside of Montreal. An outdoor concert had to be canceled in Quebec City due to scary weather. But don’t worry, everything is fine…..

It’s one of those weird days (17 and overcast) where it feels sort of warm and humid and chilly in a way. I’m not complaining, it beats the heat waves in more eastern parts of the country People vandalized a bell at the museum. This annoys me. Isabelle takes a more nuanced view, as she does. Jon added things to the list as I shopped. Isabelle’s hands hurt from cycling, and we’re going again tomorrow damnit!
