It's very important. And, I hope you are enjoying the summer despite everything around us. With that said, would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's Holy Word. Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a God who has designed us in a way where we can experience joy and satisfaction and fulfillment as we are close to you, as we pursue you, as we are in relationship with you. And Jesus, we thank you that you didn't just come to forgive us of our sins, but you came to replace our sins with something else, to replace our sins with yourself and tell us that you are the bread ... Your body is the bread and your blood cleanses us from sin, and you replace that with satisfaction by the power of Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, we recognize today that we do have a spirit leak, every single one of us, and we do need to be fi

We are so happy with you, praying for you. Happy 4th of July weekend. I hope you are planning some time to spend with family, friends, enjoy some grilling, go to the beach, enjoy the good gifts from our Father. With that said, would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's holy Word. Heavenly Father, we love you and we thank you that you are a good father, that you want the best for us. And the best for us is the path that you laid out in the gospels. And at the center of the gospels is the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, who didn't just walk a path, he laid the path, he ran that race for us in order to give us his righteousness and take our sin

But thank you for listening after you came home, or on the ride back, and paying attention. With that said, would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's Holy Word? Heavenly Father, we love you and we thank you. We thank you for the gift of life. We thank you that you have designed us to be people who live lives of joy rejoicing in you, and we experience the utmost joy when we are the absolutely, absolutely closest to you. And Lord, show us that often, the fact that we don't pursue you, the fact that we don't press into you, the fact that we don't strain forward, and press ahead to get as close to you as possible. That's actually the cause of so much of our unhappiness, our sadness, our depression, our a

And I pray, Lord, give us grace to do that. And Lord, remind us that apart from you not one of us is righteous, apart from you not one of us can justify ourselves, and apart from you we are not good, not at the center. And I pray, Jesus, that you apply your grace to our hearts today, that we take all of our earned righteousness, all of our merit, and we count it as loss in order for us to gain Christ, initially in justification and daily in sanctification, to take everything Lord that you em

Hope you are abiding in the Lord, rejoicing in him, meditating in the gospel, and being filled with the Spirit daily. So happy that you are tuning in with us. Would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's holy word? Heavenly Father, we pray that you bless our time in the word today. You have, every single week during this crisis. We felt it. People are being ministered to by your word and we're thankful for that. And I pray today, Lord, encourage us in the faith. I pray, Lord, encourage us with the example of Jesus Christ who came not to be served but to serve. Encourage us with the example of St. Paul who did the same. He served. Encourage us with the examples of Timothy and Epaphroditus, godly people, godly men who gave everything, sacrificed everything in order to encourage the faith of others, in order to plant the seed of the gospel, in order to plant churches. We are confronted with another confluence of crises with the COVID crisis and now the racism crisis, the chaos on the streets. There's no more important time than now to turn to the Lord. Would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's word? Heavenly Father, I pray that you bless our time and the Holy Scriptures. Lord, I pray with the psalmist in Psalm 44. I pray awake, O Lord. Why are you asleep, O Lord? Rouse yourself. Why have you forgotten us? How much longer will you turn your face from us? How much longer will you forget our affliction and calamity? Lord, bless our time, the holy word. I pray, Lord, take this word and comfort us. Comfort those of us who are grieving. Comfort those of us who are fearing. Lord, send us peace in our hearts to make us agents of peace in the world, agents of reconciliation to help reconcile our neighbors w

Also, just a word to our regular attenders, if we have your email address and you are on our newsletter, you have received this week a survey, and we would love if you could give us the feedback, fill it out. It would help us tremendously in gathering all the information we need to gather so that we open a Mosaic and open well. Take a moment to say hello to the people. If you're watching on Facebook live, in the comment section, send some emojis, some care emojis, heart emojis, whatever. Good morning. We're so glad that you're tuning in with us. If you're from the Boston area, from Massachusetts, you know that this week, Governor Baker issued the first stage of reopening the State, and religious gatherings are included in that stage, in that phase. And we are excited about that and optimistic. However, we are cautiously optimistic. Mosaic is a larger church. And in larger church, decisions like this are much more complex. There's many more moving pieces. So, we are taking this next week, couple weeks, to gather as much information as we possibly can to make the most prudent and informed decision we possibly can. So, we will, as a pastoral staff, send

Audio Transcript: Good morning. Welcome to Mosaic church Brookline. My name is Jan. I'm one of the pastors here at Mosaic. Hopefully you've got a nice mask like I do. I got this from my dad. My only problem with this thing is, fogs up my glasses so can't see a thing. Happy Mother's Day, everyone. Here in the beginning, just a quick announcement. Could you do me a favor? If you're watching on Facebook right now, could you please hit the share button? I hate to ask. Feels like self-promotion, but it's basically the easiest way to share the gospel ever. Just press that button. Or if you're watching on YouTube, hit the subscribe button, and like, and comments and all that. It helps us get the word out. Also, if you are visiting, welcome. If you're not part of the Mosaic Brookline community, we'd love to connect with you and we do that through the connection guide. The link will be down in the comments on the Facebook Live premiere. 03/05/2020 Duración: 46min

Audio Transcript: Hello. Welcome to our online service, Mosaic Boston Brookline. My name is Jan. I'm one of the pastors here at Mosaic, along with Pastor Shane and Pastor Andy. We're so glad you are tuning in. Here in the beginning, I want to tell you a story. The story is of my third daughter, Katarina, who is also known by Ekat, AKA Katya. Three names, three separate personalities. Katarina is her Russian personality. She grew up speaking Russian at home. We recently discovered that she speaks fluent English without us ever having taught her a lesson. On top of that, we realized that she doesn't just speak English. She can speak valley girl English. And we found this out because Tanya, my wife, opens up her phone, and she finds a video of Ekat recording herself. And she goes like this. "Hi guys. My name is Jasmine. And I'm from Australia. And I'm a Christian and I love God. And by the way, can you guys comment and subscribe and like below?" First of all, we have no idea that she watches YouTube videos.

Audio Transcript: Hello, welcome to the Mosaic Boston Brookline, our online worship experience week, I've lost track. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whatever time you're watching. We're so glad that you tuned in. Today we are continuing our sermon series through the phenomenal book of Ruth. One of the things I've been meditating on regarding preaching is in the preaching process, it feels like cooking. God often compares God's word to food, be it bread or spiritual manna or honey, and one of the challenges of preaching into a camera is I'm cooking and I don't see you eating, and that's part of the joy of cooking is seeing people enjoying the meal. However, people have been writing and people have been messaging us that God's word has been impacting them. It's been changing them, it's for nourishing them, and we are so thankful for that. God's word is powerful and God's word does nourish our souls and this is what God's word does. God's word is a feast presented to us. When we come humbly befor

Audio Transcript: Good morning. Welcome to Mosaic Boston Brookline online. My name is Jan, one of the pastors here at Mosaic and we have been praying for you, continuing to pray for you, continuing to miss you, thinking about each one of you and praying for the Lord to continue filling you with the spirit and sanctifying you. This is the seventh week that are holding an online service instead of an in-person worship gathering. As strange as it is, we're here. I've never thought we'd become a televangelist ministry, but here we are. We're at the point in the pandemic where perhaps you're there, perhaps you can relate where we're beginning to worry about some of the superficial consequences of the pandemic. We're worried about the deeper ones and perhaps you find yourself with a corona fatigue. The conversation I'm having with some people, I'm beginning to worry about things like their haircuts. I haven't had a haircut in way too long. I'm at a point where it's either a pandemic mullet or I cut my own hair o

  • Easter Sunday

    12/04/2020 Duración: 42min

Audio Transcript: Hello welcome to our online Easter service. Greetings, happy Easter, happy resurrection day, we're so glad you're with us. It's strange not worshiping together on Easter. However, we have access to Jesus Christ because of his resurrection from anywhere anyhow even in our PJ's, we will worship him. One of the things that we do at Mosaic as a church on Easter Sunday is we do a call and response. That's been done in the church throughout the ages. I say 'Christ is risen' and I welcome you to say, 'he is risen indeed' three times, louder and more emphatically every time. So would you join in with me? Christ is risen. Christ is risen. And Christ is risen. Praise God. Let us pray over the preaching of God's holy word. Heavenly father we thank you for your resurrecting power. We thank you that because of the death, the burial and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have access to you, to worship you the great God of the universe in spirit and in truth no matter where we are, no matter

  • Good Friday

    10/04/2020 Duración: 49min

Audio Transcript: Good evening, welcome to this online experience of Mosaic Boston Brookline. Today we are celebrating Good Friday. So happy Good Friday, and it is a celebration. To understand the greatest news in the history of the world we need to understand Good Friday. One word to our listeners, one word for those listening online. In the same way that I have had to adapt to preach God's word, and it does take adaptation, I ask that you dear listener adapt to listening to God's Word on the screen and it's a different skill. It's different. I work really hard to communicate God's word so that it's heard. And I ask that you work as hard to listen in order to hear. And I say that because there's distractions. You're at home, your phone's right there. If you're watching with somebody, it's easy to start into commentary on everything. And so I just ask that you set everything aside, and that you focus on God's Word. In particular, you focus today on the sufferings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wo

Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on m

Welcome to our online worship service. Thank you for joining us. My name is Jan, one of the pastors here at Mosaic Boston in Brookline. First of all, word to our church, I really miss you. Last Sunday it was just weird not being together, not singing together, not praying together. I miss you, I miss our fellowship. I was just reminded what a gift the church is. I love you, our pastors and staff love you and we've been praying for you. In this time of distress, of discouragement, we turn to our God who is our refuge. Would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's holy word? Heavenly father, you are sovereign and we submit to your plan. Lord, we know that absolutely every single detail in the history of the world is under your control. Lord, we are reminded

Audio Transcript: Hello, Mosaic Boston family, and if you're joining us for the first time online, my name's Shane, and I'm one of the pastors at Mosaic Boston Brookline. In just a moment, we're going to have a special message from Pastor Jan, encouraging us from the Scriptures. But before we do, just a couple of things. First of all, we want to acknowledge that we understand that this is a bit weird. Two weeks ago, none of us could have imagined, expected, that this is where we would be, but this is where we are now, and so we want to make the best of it. With that in mind, just a couple of things. First of all, it's important for us as a church to stay connected spiritually, and even virtually, during this time where we've been encouraged to distance ourselves from one another physically. And so, if you haven't done so yet, we would encourage you to download the Mosaic Boston app, keep up to date with the things going on, on our website, and check your e-mail often for further updates about what will b

We don't do this because we have to, we do it because you are worthy. And Lord, I pray that you make us a people who are bold and fearless. You command us over and over, fear not for you are our God, for you are with us, you are a good shepherd. Lord, we pray for our city, we pray for our country, we pray for the world. In particular, we pray for your supernatural intervention in curbing the Corona virus COVID-19. We pray Lord, send healing. We pray, Lord, that you stop the growth of this virus. You can, you have healed in the past, you do heal today and we thank you in advance. And we do Lord, thank you for the reminder
