Artist Ghia Haddad joins me on this podcast to discuss her non Euro Centric approach to textiles and mixed media art.She shares her experience of art history with a Euro-centric viewpoint and feeling outside of this as an Arab woman.Her work explores textiles and representation of Arab women through the lens of an Emirati woman. Ghia's art is something that invites interaction and touch. She discusses the exhibitions that are scheduled for this years winners later in the fall and how the YMAP continues to exhibit outside of the prize years.The prize has previously served as a launch pad for many artists which Cynthia shares on this episode, and is currently open for submissions from artists based anywhere in the world. She is keen to emphasise that Young Masters is a play on Old Masters. Young referring to living artists of any age practicing today - there is no upper age limit .
