Still Buffering

Whether it made you sick with fear or just sick from the shaky camera work, there's no denying the horrifying impact of the phrase "Kelly Clarkson has endangered us all". Now stand in the corner.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! A month of spooky movie watching continues with the fantastic Camp Miasma. You didn't think you needed to watch Gillian Anderson eat fried chicken, but wow you did. We all did.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

In its 13th season, American Horror Story finally makes a truly thrilling terror a reality; long lingering shots of sponge baths. Is it AI? It's gotta be AI.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a...woman-lead superhero movie so of course people are weird about it and we can't trust the reviews and we have to decide for ourselves if it's any good.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Hey we're old, we don't get everything. Like why do you need an iced coffee in an interview? I don't know man. But we do like Phoebe Bridgers. That's cool right?  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Like none of us want to be reminded of Covid lockdown, but if you had to choose a way to reminisce, Bo Burnham's Inside might be the best option.   Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! What would happen if the cast of Mean Girls had magic powers? Nothing good, but also something great. Join us as we watch the new camp classic Forbidden Fruits.   Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! The world is worlding pretty hard so let's go to the suburbs. AND ROCK THEM.     Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by http://nouvellas.bandcamp.com/">Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

This week we're heading into the liminal space of horror and investigating the Backrooms. What's scarier than an indoor waterslide? Hygienically speaking, not much.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

No one has to be gay. Except vampires. Like at least a little. We all agree on this right?   Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

Are Disney adults all that different from Burners? Probably, in some ways. And not in others. In any case we can all agree that everything gets worse when a Musk gets involved.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! This week we're talking about the Flodge. Don't know what that is? Probably for the best. Also Obsession, the incel horror movie that asks the impossible question; what if a girl actually liked you? (She doesn't, and you should be ok with that.)     Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! We're back and we have done our bloody gay homework! Join us as we discuss Chuck Tingles 2024 offering to the queer for fear library, Bury Your Gays. How can we actually defeat corporate ai slop hellscape? Is it the power of love?  We'll try that first and then move onto sledge hammers.     Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Woops, sometimes you get so busy celebrating your 250 year old bad friend's birthday you forget to read your gay horror novel. That's ok. Sometimes. You can always talk about Below Deck. At least the once.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

Oops, too much Pride and not enough Podcasting, but we're back with a final Queer/Fear movie for Pride month. They/Them is a conversion camp horror movie, but does the camp need more camp? And what song would a group of gen Z gay teens actually perform a sing along to? Probably not Pink.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Happy Pridoween! Our scary but also queer horror movie marathon continues with the recent gem Queens of the Dead. Can you defeat zombies with the power of friendship? Probably, if it's gay friendship.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

It's halfway to halloween and halfway through Pride month, so we are combining the two and watching some fears for queers! First up in our gay horror movie mini-thon is Whistle, a recent film where the physical manifestation of death is doing its best to bury our gays via murderous wind instruments.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! This week on Still Buffering, We Go There, and then just keep on going, because we're watching Euphoria. But just the final episode with no context. The perfect way, really.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

Clearly a person who pairs grey with gray, and another who takes outfit inspo from Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura, are exactly who should share their opinions on the biggest fashion gala of the year. And yet HERE WE ARE.    Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Become a member at https://maximumfun.org/joinbuffering

On this show, if we can find a way to talk about Sarah Michelle Gellar, we're going to talk about Sarah Michelle Gellar. And Ready or Not 2, while being a pretty great movie in its own right, is an excellent excuse to talk about The SMG.   Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content!
