Recorded last week, Joe picks a semi-recent NXT TakeOver gem of a women's match in anticipation of both TakeOver Brooklyn III and the upcoming Mae Young Classic. Jason picks an all-time classic WrestleMania match. And the RMG picks an entertainingly absurd and perplexing match from mid-90's ECW TV. It's a fun one. We're almost to twenty episodes -- woah! Joe's pick: Asuka vs Emma (w/ Dana Brooke), NXT TakeOver: London, December 16, 2015 Jason's pick: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret Hart, Submission Match, WrestleMania 13, March 23, 1997 RMG pick: Mikey Whipwreck vs 2 Gold Scorpio, ECW Television Championship & ECW Tag Team Championships match, ECW Hardcore TV 141, January 2, 1996

But the similarities between the matches also draw out the differences, which the guys don't quite agree on! Plus, luckily, the Random Match Generator is fully functioning again. Unluckily, it picks kind of a clunker. But hey, it's a new random match -- we'll take it! And it gives Jason and Joe a chance to return to the topic of one of the most over moves in wrestling: the DDT. Jason's pick: Rob Van Dam vs Jerry Lynn, Hardcore Heaven 1999, May 16, 1999 Joe's pick: The Brian Kendrick vs Kota Ibushi, Cruiserweight Classic Quarterfinals (CWC Episode 8), August 31, 2016 RMG pick: Renegade Warriors vs The Fabulous Freebirds, WCW Halloween Havoc 1990, October 27, 1990

Jason and Joe each pick TNA matches to make this episode a semi-TNA special. The RMG picks a match it has picked four times in the past (or is it five?). Joe is still rehabbing his throat a little after a medical issue, and apologies for the sound level issues. But we still have Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, two versions of Dustin Runnels, and a bunch more! A whole lot of blading - or do they bleed the hard way? Watch the matches and listen to the show to find out! (sorta) - Jason's pick: Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle, TNA Genesis 2006, November 19, 2006 - Joe's pick: Abyss vs Raven vs Rhino vs Black Reign, Monster's Ball match, TNA Bound for Glory 2007, October 14, 2007 - RMG pick: Goldust vs Ultimate Warrior, King of the Ring tournament qualifiers, Raw 161, May 27, 1996

Joe picks an unassuming television match starring two of his all-time favorites, to start us off. Then Jason guides us into an extended rundown of the 1990 Royal Rumble match! And your hosts follow that up with trying to once again discuss the same Goldust vs Ultimate Warrior match from 1996 that seems to be tripping up the Random Match Generator. Happy holiday! - Joe's pick: Chris Jericho vs Faarooq, Smackdown 145, May 30, 2002 - Jason's pick: The Royal Rumble, Royal Rumble 1990, January 21, 1990 - RMG pick: Goldust vs Ultimate Warrior, King of the Ring tournament qualifiers, Raw 161, May 27, 1996

  • 14: Steve "Steven" "Mongo" McMichael Living Memorial Tribute Podcast

<img alt="itunes pic" src="http://assets.podomatic.net/ts/c2/ae/d4/joe-villella/1400x1400_11923297.jpg">This one is the definition of a doozy. Answering the challenge posed by the from-the-archives Belushi episode of this very podcast, Jason and Joe both pick Steve "Mongo" McMichael matches to discuss on this episode, and have the audacity to hope that the Random Match Generator might serve up a third. It does not -- rather, it seems to malfunction again. And so your hosts are left to discuss two less-than-stellar Mongo matches, his overall character and career... followed by a return to the Goldust vs Ultimate Warrior King of the Ring tournament qualifier match from Monday Night Raw in May, 1996. Nevertheless, the spirit of still-living Steven presides throughout, lending strength, like the power of the Warriors, to your hosts as they face the absurdity that is recording an episode of a podcast about two Steve "Mongo" McMichael matches and the threepeat of Goldust vs Warrior. Both Jason and Joe did not

Joe picks a match that hadn't even happened when he chose it, but luckily ends up being a whole lot of fun. Jason, to spite the Random Match Generator, picks what he thinks might be the best Ultimate Warrior match ever, which also happens to be from his favorite WWF pay-per-view. And the RMG gives up a... random match. It could've been worse! Topics discussed include the dangers and merits of broad comedy in WWE matches; cocaine and flagrant rule-breaking in sight of the referee; and whether it's possible that R-Truth is an immortal, a time-traveler, or both. Joe gets bitchy about the classic Summerslam match. Jason sort of raps, and he doesn't go with a Road Dogg verse, oh no. We're back on track, and the RMG is functioning fine. Enjoy! - Joe's pick: The Usos vs Breezango, for the WWE SmackDown Live! Tag Team Championship, Backlash 2017, May 21, 20

  • 3.5: The Belushi Special (Mini-episode)

And, as some of you may know, part of the cast of this new season of Twin Peaks is... Jim Belushi. Yes, the very same Jim Belushi from the 1996 film "Race the Sun," and the very same Jim Belushi mentioned in "3: High-flyin’ and throat-spikin’," the 3rd episode of this podcast. So, as a treat for our regular listeners, instead of skipping this week, we've reached into the archives in order to post this special "mini-episode" of Three Out of Three Falls, recorded in early February of this year (between episodes 3 and 4), where we discuss not three matches -- not even a single match -- but, instead, Eric Bischoff's interview with Jim Belushi from WCW Saturday Night, January 20, 1996. A bizarrely Lynchian effort from mid-90's WCW, the interview -- and our discussion of it -- ranges over to

You read that right -- the Random Match Generator is on the fritz again. Nonetheless, we watched the match it selected -- again -- and hopefully were able to bring a few new insights to light. At least some chuckles. But, hey! The two matches before it are really fun! Watch 'em below, and join us for some chit-chat. Also: Jason reveals his pick for next episode early, and calls out the RMG! What'll happen next time? - Joe's pick: Andrade "Cien" Almas vs Oney Lorcan, NXT 383, March 22, 2017 - Jason's pick: Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 21, April 3, 2005 - RMG pick: Goldust vs Ultimate Warrior, King of the Ring tournament qualifiers, Raw 161, May

Before that, Jason and Joe discuss a harrowing classic of a brawl from 1985, and a goofy, fun tag-team match from 2012 that descends into light-hearted brutality and chaos. What connects these picks? Well, with Jason and Joe's picks, one could say that they both tell compelling stories through character and violence. As for the RMG's pick this time, Joe claims during the show that it tells a story, but he might've gotten carried away. Unless the story is one of beguiling the audience. PLEASE go watch the match! Hell, all of these matches. It's a lot of fun. - Jason's pick: Magnum T.A. vs Tully Blanchard, Steel Cage "I Quit" match, Starrcade 1985, November 28, 1985 - Joe's pick: Daniel Bryan & Kane vs Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow, Smackdown 683, September 21, 2012 - RMG pick: A
