We need to rethink disease and reimagine a food system and a health care system the protects health, unburdens the economy from the weight of obesity and chronic disease, protects the environment, helps reverse climate change and creates a nation of healthy children and citizens. How Eating An Anti-Inflammatory Diet Is Key To Regaining Your Health
23/07/2021 Duración: 21minHow Eating An Anti-Inflammatory Diet Is Key To Regaining Your Health | This episode is brought to you by InsideTracker Inflammation is part of the body’s natural defense system and can be a good thing in balance. However, when your immune system shifts out of balance, inflammation can run rampant—causing a chronic, smoldering fire inside your body that contributes to disease, weight gain, and more. What we eat is one of the biggest levers we have when it comes to driving or reducing inflammation. Industrial food drives inflammation, oxidative stress, hormone and neurotransmitter imbalances, overloads your detoxification system, depletes your energy, damages your microbiome, and changes your gene expression to turn on disease-causing genes. Real whole nutrient and phytonutrient-rich food does the opposite. It turns off inflammation, increases antioxidant systems, balances hormones and brain chemistry, boosts detoxification, increases energy, optimizes your microbiome, and turns on disease-preventing, health-pr

How The Intelligence Of Plants and Animals Can Help Us Reclaim Our Health with Fred Provenza
14/07/2021 Duración: 02h02minHow The Intelligence Of Plants and Animals Can Help Us Reclaim Our Health | This episode is brought to you by Joovv, BiOptimizers, and Primal Kitchen If we take the time to be quiet, still, and curious, there’s an immeasurable amount of knowledge to be gained from our natural surroundings. In watching grazing animals and their food choices, we see they know how to personalize their nutritional intake to eat plants that match their exact needs. Though many of us have lost our innate wisdom to eat intuitively, upping our intake of phytochemicals and reducing processed foods means we can recalibrate our cravings to lean towards what we truly need. Vitamins and minerals often get most of the attention when it comes to eating for nutrient density, but phytochemicals are the real hidden talent for optimizing plant, animal, and human health. Unfortunately, modern agriculture has actually damaged the phytochemical richness of our food, by breeding for yield, appearance, and hardiness. I enjoyed sitting down with Fred

How to Rewire Your Brain For Sleep with Dr. Andrew Huberman
07/07/2021 Duración: 01h38minHow to Rewire Your Brain For Sleep | This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens, BiOptimizers, and Cozy Earth When I was in medical school, they taught us we can’t regenerate brain cells. If you stayed up too late studying or did drugs, you’d lose precious connections and that was that. Now, luckily, we know that isn’t true. There are multiple ways to encourage the plasticity of the brain at any age, to enhance everything from sleep to learning. Most people don’t realize that sleep is a keystone of health. When we’re sleep-deprived, it’s really hard to eat well or to have the energy to exercise. It’s hard to think straight. It’s even hard to stay in a good mood or have a positive outlook on life. Understanding the way the brain and our neurotransmitters work means we can hack our sleep to not just feel amazing but to level up our focus, skills, and knowledge. Today on The Doctor’s Farmacy, I talk to Dr. Andrew Huberman about the body-brain connection and how small actions can have huge payoffs for o

The Harmful Effects Of Weedkiller (Glyphosate) On Our Health And Our Future with Stephanie Seneff
30/06/2021 Duración: 58minThe Harmful Effects of Weedkiller (Glyphosate) On Our Health And Our Future | This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, BiOptimizers, and TrueDark The statistics on glyphosate, the world’s most commonly used pesticide, are pretty grim. Billions of pounds have been applied globally since the 70s. In the US, though we’re only 4% of the world’s population, we use 20% of the world’s supply annually. Then, we wonder why our rates of chronic disease are so much higher than other countries. The evidence against the use of glyphosate keeps mounting, yet it’s still legally drenching our food supply. I try to be as good as I can about eating organic, high-quality food, and my glyphosate test revealed I was still in the 50th percentile. Studies have linked glyphosate to cancer, endocrine disruption, infertility, immune dysfunction, liver and kidney damage, and disruption of the microbiome. And not only is glyphosate harming human health and the health of our future generations, it’s also destroying our ecosystems.

Our bodies are extremely intelligent, so why are they acting so dumb and having so many dysfunctions? Using the lens of Functional Medicine, we can see that a disease is so much more than its location. With inflammation smoldering throughout the body in many people, we need to zero in on the immune system, how it’s functioning, and what factors are negatively impacting it. We’re in an exciting time for research in this area, as we continue to learn how to fix the problems behind an aging immune system. There’s no better person to talk to about this topic than the one and only Dr. Jeff Bland. Dr. Bland is the founder of Big Bold Health, a company on a mission to transform the way people think about one of nature’s greatest innovations—the immune system. Through Big Bold Health, J
