  • Tip of the Week-Organize Your Linen Closet

    20/11/2023 Duración: 13min

Hi Friends,As someone who has a houseful of people during Thanksgiving and Christmas I’ve made it a practice to do a deep dive in the linen closet each November. Here’s a quick cheat sheet to how I approach organizing my linen closet:Sheets- A quick tip to making any closet appear organized is using baskets.I hate folding sheets-especially fitted sheets, so I use baskets with pretty labels to corral our sheets and hide any imperfections with my folding technique. My rule of thumb is 2 sets per bed -one that’s on your bed and one spare.BTW, If your sheets have seen better days, I love my new sheets from American Blossom Linens! They are made without any harsh chemicals, have deep pockets and get softer with every wash! Towels-Get rid of anything that frayed, torn or worn out. Animal Shelters are always looking for old linens, blankets and towels for the animals! My rule of thumb is approx 4 bath towels per person, 2-4 hand towels per person, and 6-8 washcloths per person.Toiletries-It’s always good to have ext

In today's digital world, keeping your identity safe is super important. Here are three top ways to do it:1. Keep Your Info Secure:Strong Passwords: Make unique and strong passwords for your accounts. Think letters, numbers, and symbols. Consider using a password manager to handle the heavy lifting.Two-Factor Authentication: Add an extra layer of security with 2FA. It asks for a second form of verification, like a code sent to your phone.Guard Your Docs: Keep sensitive stuff like passports and financial papers safe. Shred or trash any old docs with personal info.2. Keep an Eye on Your Money:Check Your Statements: Look through your bank and card statements often for any fishy transactions.Credit Report Check: Grab your free credit reports yearly to spot any red flags. • Tip of the Week-Halloween Decor

    30/10/2023 Duración: 10min

Hey there, fellow Halloween enthusiasts! Today, I want to chat about something near and dear to my heart – organizing Halloween decorations. Over the years, my family and I have gathered quite a spooky collection, but it's essential to keep things in check to avoid clutter. As Halloween wraps up, it's the perfect time to assess your decorations. Ask yourself if you still love them and if they hold sentimental value. If not, consider letting go or replacing them with items that bring joy. Remember, storage space is limited, so think twice before adding more. If you can spare the room, that's great; if not, find a new home for your decor without overloading your space. It's all about being mindful of your available space and setting boundaries. Consider if you genuinely want and use each decoration. If not, consider donating or making room for new pieces. We'd love for you to join our Facebook group, subscribe for exclusive content, and watch for our spookily decorated house on social media!Wishing you a spooktacu

  • Tip of the Week-Ditch Old Mugs

    23/10/2023 Duración: 14min

Today, we're tackling a common issue that plagues us all: the ever-expanding mug collection. Mugs seem to breed like rabbits in our cupboards, don't they? They're often packed with sentimental value or showcase quirky designs that are hard to part with. Here are some ways to narrow down your mug collection:Use the golden “one-row rule.” Unless you’re running a tea party for a small army, aim to squeeze 12 to 15 mugs onto a single shelf without piling them up. The chipped and worn ones might find a better home through donation if they’re no longer your cup of tea (pun intended). Seasonal mugs- keep those separately, and when the time comes, temporarily swap them in while respecting the one row rule. Of course, organizing is as personal as your coffee order, so adapt it to your liking. And while you’re on that “first sip feeling,” share this episode with friends and family. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.co

  • Tip of the Week-Clean Your Fridge

    16/10/2023 Duración: 18min

Today's tip: the fridge clean-out. Every week, it's as simple as tossing expired items and giving those surfaces a good wipe-down. Carve out an hour to empty, clean, and reorganize your fridge for a deeper cleanse. Take the time to check those expiration dates as you go. It's worth it.Consider using turntables or bins to streamline condiments, and remember to label containers for easy identification. And remember, zoning your fridge makes life a lot easier—group similar items together for a more organized space.Regular deep cleans, around four times a year, will keep your fridge fresh and organized. It's a chance to take inventory, swap out that baking soda to keep odors at bay and maintain a well-organized space. After cleaning, quickly check for expired items and make a shopping list. Clean up any spills or drips to keep your fridge looking its best. And speaking of keeping things tidy, labeling is your best friend. Use labels on shelves, drawers, and containers to keep everything in its place. If your fridge

  • Tip of the Week-Donate Old Books

    09/10/2023 Duración: 13min

Today's tip is all about tackling that mountain of old books. We've all got them, right? Those books that have sentimental value or an "I'll read it someday" mentality. But it's time to make some tough decisions.First, ask yourself if the book is still relevant. Let it go if it's a technology book from the Stone Age or a textbook from your college days. Information evolves, and so should your bookshelf.Next up, be honest about whether you'll ever read those books you've been collecting. We've all been there—buying with good intentions, but they gather dust. Consider letting them find new homes if you'll unlikely dive into them. Now, what to do with these books? Donating is a noble path. Libraries, schools, and even your local doctor's office can often use them. You might also find second-hand bookstores that accept donations, but check their criteria first.Decluttering isn't a one-time gig; it's a way of life. Spice it up by hosting a book swap with friends. Declutter while bonding over books, and it's a win-w

  • Tip of the Week-Digitize Old Videos

    02/10/2023 Duración: 07min

Hi Friends,Let's dive right into today's tip—it's more relevant than you might think, especially with the holidays approaching. Today, we're talking about digitizing old videos, those VHS tapes or DVDs packed with cherished memories. Here's the deal: Many of us no longer have the means to play these old tapes, and finding a conversion service can be tricky. My recommendation? Find a local photo shop that offers in-house conversion. This way, you reduce the risk of mailing your personal videos, and you get immediate access to the digital files.Apart from being a fun project, it makes a unique gift, especially for aging parents. By making their old videos accessible on their devices, you declutter their digital lives and preserve memories for future generations.Join our email list for more tips, and subscribe to our podcast for past episodes and bonus content.
