Step By Stapp Podcast

Chris & Rob try to start 2019 right by solely talking about Step by Step and Scott Stapp, but become distracted by the time machine Rob stole from Elon Musk's house on New Year's Eve. When they get a glimpse of their future 2 years down the line, they realize they must do whatever it takes to change the course of history and save the podcast.  Also, on Step by Step Dana goes to college and Scott Stapp wrote the Creed song Silent Teacher about it. 

Chris & Rob are planning to record a very special holiday episode - their first ever LIVE stream on Christmas morning. Unfortunately for them, a mysterious podcast hater known only as "The Chunch" has plans to ruin the show and take all the joy out of the now famous tradition that is Step by Stapp's Christmas episode. Chris & Rob try to do a normal show and talk about the Step by Step episode where Mark takes karate lessons (and why Scott Stapp wrote the song "What If" about it), but are interrupted by a couple of HR reps from corporate who are monitoring the podcast as year-end protocol. 

Chris & Rob discover a lost recording from when they first met at the high school prom in which both their dates no-showed. As the unedited tape plays it becomes obvious that their experience was not only reminiscent of the Step by Step S3 finale, "Prom Night", but also that the Creed song "Unforgiven" was written specifically about that episode. 

Frequent caller Martii dials the podcast for some dating advice after recently divorcing both his husband AND his wife. Rob guides him on his blind date with CKassandra, who he was set up with from hotornot.com. On Step by Step, Karen & Dana are also set up on blind dates by their conniving mom, and things do not go well. Luckily things did go well when Scott Stapp recorded the Creed song "Ode", allowing us to listen to it as well as understand how it is about bad blind dates.

For their big Halloween special, Chris & Rob book infamous paranormal investigator Chad LaRemy (Nick Baglas). But while recording in Chad's sprawling 19th century mansion, weird things start happening. And the more Chad divulges about his past, the weirder things get.  Also they discuss the film noir parody episode of Step by Step and the Art of Anarchy song "A Light in Me" (aka the devil's music) which was obviously written about that episode.

Chris & Rob welcome guest Erika back to the show to celebrate Scottoberfest and share in some traditional Scott Stapp themed fall brews. They also discuss the episode of Step by Step where Suzanne Somers gets addicted to diet pills and the Scott Stapp song "Crash", which was written as a tribute to that episode.Plus, Erika tells her incredible story of seeing Creed perform live in 2002, and a special jumbo sized "You've Got Voicemail" segment. This episode truly has something for everyone. 

When Rob is away on a business trip, Chris finds a temporary co-host named Rick on Craigslist. Then, door-to-door salesman Willy Himan shows up (uninvited) to try and sell his wares. On Step by Step, J.T. becomes a salesman himself while washing Tauruses at a used car lot. And obviously the Scott Stapp Art of Anarchy song "1,000 Degrees" was written about that episode too. 

On Step by Step, the kids watch horror films and then take turns scaring each other. Scott Stapp had some thoughts about that when he wrote the unreleased song called “Pray For Sunrise.”Plus, Chris & Rob share their experience of not going to see Scott Stapp on Fox & Friends, a new listener voicemail, and the creepiest non ghost story ever told. This episode is so spooky you are guaranteed to soil your Hanes. 

Going with the theme of today's Step by Step episode where Karen & Al audition for a modeling gig at the local mall, Chris & Rob book Heidi Klum as a guest on the podcast. Unfortunately the terms of the interview stipulate it must be over AOL Instant Messenger. Plus: hear the Creed song Scott Stapp wrote as a very obvious tribute to Al Lambert's modeling career, and we get a new listener voicemail.

Chris & Rob read the lost pilot to a network drama Chris wrote years ago - Doctor Premonition - which is (kind of) similar to the episode of Step by Step where Cody has premonitions in his dreams. The result is must-hear TV! Also, turns out the Creed song Scott Stapp wrote about that ep of Step by Step was hiding in plain sight on the Eurpean version of Human Clay THIS WHOLE TIME. 

When Chris forgets Rob's birthday, he scrambles to get some of Rob's favorite celebrities to call into the show. You'll never believe what Harvey Fierstein sounds like in real life!Mark on Step by Step is also celebrating a big birthday, but things don't go his way after he falls in love during a game of "Spin the Bottle".Plus, the Stapp Conspiracy is blown wide open when Chris & Rob discover the truth about this week's song. The lyrics must be heard to be believed...

Chris & Rob take you inside the Step by Stapp lab to reveal the process by which they identify which Creed song is about which episode of Step by Step. But in struggling to find a song for this week's show, they uncover what could be the greatest conspiracy of the 21st century dealing with 90s post-grunge Christian rock and TGIF sitcoms. On Step by Step, Cody teaches kids to read. 

Chris & Rob play a recording of the time they spent Christmas in jail with a quirky police officer (Nick Baglas) guarding them. Coincidentally, the experience is very similar to the holiday episode of Step by Step Season 3 in which Frank & Carol spend Christmas behind bars with their guard, Don Knotts. And despite being incarcerated, Rob & Chris still manage to decipher that the Art of Anarchy song "Changed Man" was written about that exact episode.

On Step by Step, Al starts hanging out with the bad kids at school and gets herself into trouble. Hear what Scott Stapp thought about this episode when he wrote his 2013 solo song, "Broken".On the podcast, Rob gets into trouble as well when his new friend Dennis keeps calling with ideas for pranks to pull on the neighbors. Soon Chris is dragged in and Dennis pits the boys against each other. Plus, a new listener voicemail! 

Chris & Rob offer free advice to some struggling podcasts out there, like this one called "This American Life". With some practice and strict adherence to these guidelines, maybe even those dopes can someday make a good podcast. On Step by Step, Frank & Carol turn to a self help book for marriage advice and it nearly ruins their entire lives. Plus, Scott Stapp wrote the Creed song "The Song You Sing" about the Lamberts' ill-fated attempt to spice up their relationship.

Rob & Chris must put aside their dance feud to defeat Joe Rogan & Adam Carolla on "Dancing with the Podcast Stars."Plus, in the Step by Step discussion we call out Jersey Shore's Pauly D for stealing his entire persona from Cody Lambert. And finally, Scott Stapp wrote the Creed song "Lullaby" about the time Carol got mad at Frank for not dancing with her at a wedding.

Find out how to avoid bouncers, fake phone conversations with celebrities, and of course seal the deal with the woman you've been ignoring all night. On Step by Step, Cody learns a little something about dating as well when he gets involved with a single mom. And this episode really connected with Scott Stapp when he wrote the Art of Anarchy song "Won't Let You Down" about Cody's love life.
