Into this intro, and the first verses of James we learn who James was.  What James believed before he called Jesus "Lord".  How did the brother of Jesus become a chief pillar of the church in Jerusalem?  Grab your Bible and lets study together!

In Luke 4 we see how the Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness.  Why would he possible do that?  Do we go looking for trouble, or does trouble come looking for us?  We would think that the Spirit would help us avoid trouble, however in this moment it's for a reason.  Jesus who is the second Adam will be tempted.  The first Adam was tempted in paradise, and a perfect environment, and now the Second Adam is being tempted in the wilderness, and hardship.  Where the first Adam failed the Second conquered.  Grab your bible and lets study together!

In 2 Samuel David claims and tares down a city with a 70 lbs crown.  Grab your bible and examine this part of scripture!

David has fallen, not just injured.  Gross sin, however God sent a man to preach to him.  Thanks be to God that he sends a faithful preacher to preach until he repented.  David then turns to the Lord with his whole heart.  He writes Psalm 51, and we do well to have a life of repentance and follow after this example with our lives.  Grab your bible and lets study together!

After God delivers the enemies of David to him on a silver platter, after all the boards are secure.  Prosperity overflows to David from the hand of God.  David finds himself in the cool of the day when "The kings rose to go to war".  David had taken the time to be idol, and rest.  This was just the chance for his heart to wonder from the Faithful God who had blessed him so.  Grab your bible and lets study together!

In this episode of At The River we follow along with the thoughts of Luke, who inspired by the Holy Spirit doesn't simply give the same genology as Matthew does.  Matthew begins with the ancestory starting with Abraham to prove that Jesus was the promised "seed" of Abraham.  However Luke begins with Adam, to prove that Jesus is the second Adam.  The one to come that fixes everything!  Grab your bible and lets study together "At The River!"

In Luke, John begins his preaching ministry by calling to repentance the populas that is gathers to him in the wilderness, he asks the "brood of vipers" why they are running from wrath!!?  They must had scorched consciences to know that their standing with God was not correct.  He preaches repentance!  A life time of repentance is what John calls the listener to!  Grab your bible and lets study together "At The River!!"

We begin Luke 3 with name and dates.  We see how Luke being a precise historian lists the name of Leaders and historical figures who where established and historically reigned in a certain place and time in history.  Redemptive history is certainly history!  Grab your bible and lets study as John the Baptists emerges to "make way the path of the Lord!"  Join us at The River!!!

In 2 Samuel David's intention was good, he saught to bring the Ark of God to the capital of Israel.  Now that his seat as King is established it would be a good idea to unite the kingdom with it's worship of the God of Israel to the capital as well.  However David doesn't go about it in the correct way.  The presence of God is to be carried on the shoulders of priests not on a cart of "big wheels" and "boards".  Grab your bible and lets study together at The River!

As we step into the throne of heaven we see the throne, we hear the thunders and the rumblings, we see the small thrones around.  We see the living creatures around the throne that praise his name night and day.  We see a sea of crystal around the throne.  What does all this mean?  Grab your bible and we will examine these things together and be swept up in the fact that THERE IS A THRONE, and we know the one who sits on it!! www.RiverSideFWB.com

In Luke 2 we pick up at 12 year old Jesus, who is found in the temple with the teachers of Israel.  Jesus who has two natures, of divinity and humanity.  Which nature can see clearly when Jesus is speaking to these teachers?  Is it the God who knows everything or is it humanity who isn't tainted by the curse of sin!?  Grab your bible and lets look at the hypo-static union of Jesus Christ who we believe is a "Down to earth deity".  The 12 year old Jesus with no sin, has no problems running laps around the broken sinful and fallen minds that Israel has to offer!  Lets study together! www.RiverSideFWB.com

The city known for wealthy, medicine, and fine clothing is up next in the letter from Jesus to his churches.  This church isn't in open rebellion against Jesus nor is it full of zeal and power for Jesus.  It's middle of the road, not contriversal, not to hot, not too cold.  The city is know for having bad water and had long pipes that brought the cool water from the mountains, however by the time it reached Laodicia it was dirty, luke warm and nasty!  Does this describe your church?  Does it describe you?  Grab your bible and lets study together! www.RiverSideFWB.com

In this episode of RiverSide we look at Joab and Abner.  These two generals fought each over on the battle field, however after an act of war, Joab walks away with a grudge.  The revenge attitude that Joab decides to carry effects his whole life.  Grab your bible and lets study together.  

In 2 Samuel we see that the civil war between the house of Saul and David continues, however David's kingdom grows while his rival's grows weaker.  Soon Abner the military might behind Saul's house extends an olive branch of peace and offers to join David.  The story unfolds as Joab soon comes across this pact and takes revenge on Abner for the death of his younger brother.  Joab living off anger and rage gets even on Joab, a life of revenge and eye for an eye leaves everyone blinded.  Grab your bible and lets unpack these text together and study! www.RiverSideFWB.com
