In our study of Ruth, we come to chapter 2.  Naomi has now returned to her home land out of Midian.  Ruth, being a faithful friend allows Naomi to rest and enjoy her elder state-hood.  Ruth sets her hands to work and support her mother-in law.  She finds herself by the mighty hand of God in the field of Boaz.  Boaz being a kinsman redeemer, meaning the one who would save and cover her family.. we examine the redeeming work of God in this chapter! There are two things that Christians can count on.  That God doesn't change, and God doesn't lie.  In this section of scripture the Holy Spirit points out to us that we can run and find refuge in this fortress of hope.  Abraham waited patiently on the Lord and his faith paid off.  Are you waiting on the Lord?  Will it put you to shame in the end of it all?  Grab your bible and lets study together at The River!!

In these final books of Judges, we can see the apostate Israel now turning on one another.  When we take our eyes off of God and make for ourselves our own gods we destroy ourselves and everyone around us.  The tribe of Benjamin doing despicable acts and has the rest of it's own clan defend this sin.  Charles Spurgeon has been known to quote, "A sin that is defended is a double sin."  This wicked act causes a civil war in Israel.  Grab your bible and lets study together At The River!
