Is Jesus really God? It’s an important question to answer, because Christianity rises and falls on who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Jesus is unique in that he didn’t just call us to obey His teachings; he called us to believe in Him as savior and God. Join us as we continue our series Explore God. In efforts to promote a diverse, peaceful, loving society, many have dismissed Christianity as too narrow, while embracing all faiths as diverse paths leading towards the same ideas (religious pluralism). When Jesus spoke, he often talked about truth: John 1:17, 5:24, 8:31-32, 18:28-38. He said things like “I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).” Jesus taught us that we do not have to guess about who God is and how we can know Him, but that we can now the truth and live in the radical freedom of God’s grace. When it comes to your money, do you have a grip on it or does it have a grip on you? When money gets you in a headlock, it has the potential to destroy your marriage and your life. In Luke 16:1-15, Jesus tells an entertaining story about a shrewd and dishonest money manager which leads to practical instruction for each of us on how to handle the dollars we have. Great stories of faith grow in climates of darkness. The news of our times is full of murder, violence, deception, and injustice; our world is full of darkness. For me to see my life for what it is, I must first see my future for what it is: earth is a hotel stay; heaven is home. Is God fair? It’s a thought provoking, conversation inducing, question. Especially so, since we live in a time when fairness and equality are so highly valued. In the parable of the Laborers, Matthew 20:1-16, we learn that God actually extends to us something that is better than fair: His grace, His presence, and His call. There is nothing like the feeling of "Coming Home." Unfortunately, when it comes to God, many feel like they can't come home. This week we see an example of God's gracious love and pursuit of His children, as we look at one of Jesus' most beloved teachings: the parable of the lost sheep.

In Matthew 13:24-30, Jesus tells the parable of the wheat and the weeds. Planted in the same field by different farmers, the wheat and the weeds grew together.
