Time management: it is a challenge that we all face. Either you capture your time or your time captures you. The Bible teaches us in Ephesians 5:15 to, "Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise— 16 making the most of the time. . .” Join us as Lash preaches on “Becoming a Time Capturer.” As you prepare for worship, spend some time reading through Ephesians 5:15-21 and James 1:1-7.

Humanity continually seeks the beauty of art and the complexity of love. Marriage is the foundational human relationship through which family and community are built and illustrates Christ’s love for His bride: the church. Join us as we take communion and celebrate God’s gift of love to us with a sermon entitled “Love’s Greatest Compliment.”

The currency of the 21st century is ideas. Our world is full of many voices selling ideas that sound good but are not supported by truth. In Ephesians 5:8, the Bible teaches that Christians must walk as “children of light.” It is when we walk in light that are able to discern what is "pleasing to the Lord.” Join us as we look at Ephesians 5:6-14 in a sermon entitled “Children of Light.”

You reflect what you worship. When we worship God, our lives reflect him. When we worship the things of the world, our lives reflect it. In Ephesians 5:1, the Bible calls us to "be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.” As dearly loved children of God, we are to walk as Jesus walked, love as Jesus love, and talked as Jesus talked. Since you put away lying, Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger. . .(Ephesians 4:25-26). What’s the big deal with lying? Does moral truth even exist? How can I speak the truth in love rather than anger? These are all good questions in need of biblical answers. The Christmas story is an amazing story of unity. In it, God becomes man and His light draws those rich and poor; wise and the simple; near and the far, to the One who is powerful enough to be bring unity to our deepest divisions. The gospel itself is an amazing story of unity, and when we embrace it’s truth we find ourselves a part of Christ’s body: the church. Like the shepherds and wisemen, we come to the church with different backgrounds and gifts and find ourselves united by the One who is powerful enough to bring unity to our deepest divisions.

It’s Christmas week! A time when we gather with family, exchange gifts, and take a few moments to slow down and remember what’s important. For Christians, Christmas is a Holy-Day on which we celebrate the birth of our savior and Lord: Jesus Christ. At Bethlehem he intervened to redeem; the fracture of sin had broken the peace of creation, so He broke the chaos of sin with the peace of Himself. Join us as we look at John 1:1-4 “In Quest of the True Meaning of Christmas."

"For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named (Ephesians 3:14-15).” For many, Christmas is a time where families gather and special memories are formed. Christmas can be a magical time of the year, and it can also be a rough time of the year. Bring your friends and family and join us this Sunday, as we move into the Christmas season, with a sermon entitled 3 Christmas Prayers from Ephesians 3:14-21.

Each year, at Christmas, Murphy Church joins with 40,000 other churches in raising funds to support missionaries around the world. The question arises as to why? Why do we give money, energy, time, and faithful prayer to the mission work. There are no perfect people in a church. We come together with different stories, perspectives, gifts, and hopes. Some of us cannot remember a life without church, while others feel like strangers in a new land called church. We are an in imperfect family who is made perfect by the One who unites as one. On Christ, the household that is the church stands and extends so that the love that Christ began in our hearts pours out to all the world. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Most are thankful for our families, friends, health, and the blessings that we enjoy. For Christians, the depths of gratitude are experienced in the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 2, "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace.” Join us this Sunday for a special Thanksgiving sermon entitled The Depths of Gratitude.

In the tomb, God demonstrated His power when he restored life to the broken, lifeless body of His son. In the church, Jesus demonstrates his power when he heals our brokenness and brings life to our lifeless soul. The Bible says Christ is the “head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of the One who fills all things in every way.” Join us this Sunday, as Lash preaches on “Brokenness Restored” from Ephesians 1:20-23. Before worship spend a few moments reading Ephesians 1 and preparing you heart for the taking of the Lord’s Supper.

When you understand what it means to be “in Christ,” it creates a perspective shift: each day becomes a gift, an opportunity, a compulsion to live for the praise of God's glory. Sometimes we miss out on all the good stuff that God is doing, because we look a life from the earth up rather than from heaven down. The full inheritance of the heavenly kingdom awaits those who are “in Christ.” It is in Christ, that believers find redemption, forgiveness, wisdom, and understanding. It is in Christ, that God declares us holy and blameless and welcomes us into his family. The fact that you can know God personally is one of the defining characteristics of Christianity. We believe that God is more than the force of the universe. God is more than our collective life-force. God did not hide from the world that he created. We believe that God has personally revealed Himself, because He desires for us to know Him and to love Him. Join us this week as we conclude our Explore God series with question 7: Can I know God Personally?
