“A Path Forward: Who Looks Good? (Mt. 5:13-16)”At one part of the Sermon, Jesus says, "Let your light shine before others." Later in the Sermon He tells us to keep our acts of piety secret, saying, "Don't even let your left hand know what your right hand is doing." Which is it? It depends on the motive and purpose of both the action and the actor.  It also depends on who ends up looking good - you or God? In our image obsessed culture, Jesus continues to offer a refreshing path forward.

A Path Forward: Who is Blessed? (Mt. 5:1-12)In the Scriptures blessing = the presence of God. This is the beating heart of what it means to be blessed: to be with God. Join DJay as he explores the famous list of beatitudes given by Jesus in Matthew 5. Who is blessed? Those who walk through every situation with God, no matter their circumstances.

"Not in Words but in Deeds" 1 from John 3:11-24 Join us as we continue our series through 1 John "Love Above All." In this week's text the Apostle John walks the church through the truest and most basic definition of love. "This is how we know what love is, that Jesus Christ laid down his life for us." We are to love in the same way.  In preparation for Sunday's teaching, I'd like to invite you to read Genesis 1-4, as well as, 1 John 3:11-24. 

 “A Path Forward”Do you enjoy bumper-to-bumper traffic? How about political gridlock? I know that you enjoy constant bickering. No?! Me neither. We need an alternative way of living that can move us out of gridlock. We need a new way to be human. Thankfully, Jesus has offered it to us. Nowhere is this more clearly expressed and explained than in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7.  Join us as we begin a new Mid-Week Teaching Series titled: "A Path Forward." In this Wednesday’s teaching, DJay introduces the Sermon on the Mount and explains why it remains such a timely teaching for us today. 

" Practice Righteousness " - 1 John 2:28-3:10Join us as we continue our series through 1 John "Love Above All." In this week's text the Apostle John uses the word "practice" seven times in a dozen verses. John writes, "Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous." This week we'll explore the idea of practicing righteousness. Get Dressed: The Bride of ChristToday we wrap our our series on clothing in the Bible by looking at the imagery of the bride of Christ being dressed for a wedding feast in Revelation 19. Join DJay as he explores this imagery in Revelation 19 and Hosea 2.

"The Anointing You Have Received"- The name Christ is really a title. In our culture we may think of it as a last name, i.e., Jesus Christ. But that isn't how the apostles and disciples meant it. Christ means "anointed one." In the New Testament, whenever someone calls Jesus the "Christ," it is synonymous to Messiah. In 1 John 2:18-27 the Apostle John uses some clever word play with the words anointing, Christ, and antichrist. Join us on Sunday morning as we explore what it means to receive and abide in Christ's anointing. Mid-Week Teaching: “Get Dressed: The Father's Robe”The emotional consequence of sin is shame experienced through the fear of exposure. Adam and Eve were...naked and ashamed.  But rather than exposing our spiritual nakedness, the Father clothes His children with righteousness.  Join us as we continue our series looking at the theme of clothing in the Bible.

When Jesus began His ministry, His first recorded sermon in the Gospel of Luke (chapter 4) was a quotation from Isaiah 63.  In this beautiful passage the Lord promises that He will cloth His people with a "garment of praise." Join us as DJay continues our current series titled "Get Dressed!"

Mid-Week Teaching: “Get Dressed!: Put on Love”In our mid-week teaching DJay explores the spiritual clothing that Paul encourages all Christians to wear in Colossians 3.  There is a beautiful overlap between the list of clothing in Colossians 3 with some of Paul's other famous lists - the Fruit of the Spirit, as well as, faith, hope, and love.

Mid-Week Teaching: “Get Dressed!: The Armor of God”This week DJay continues the series "Get Dressed!" by looking at the Armor of God in Ephesians 6.  Last week we read Isaiah 59, from which Paul borrows "the helmet of salvation" and "breastplate of righteousness."  Notice how Paul takes this imagery and develops it into a full suit of spiritual armor. 

Mid-Week Teaching: “Get Dressed!: The Lord's Clothing”In this this week's teaching, DJay begins a new mid-week series titled: "Get Dressed." The Scriptures are filled with images, stories, and parables of clothing. Adam and Eve were naked and ashamed, but God clothed them.  This week DJay focuses on the clothing that the Lord dresses Himself in as described in Isaiah 59.

Mid-Week Teaching – 5 Practices to Imitate ChristAs we launch into a new mid-week series, DJay briefly explores 5 historic spiritual practices for us to imitate Jesus.  This week we explore: prayer, meditation on Scripture, receiving mentorship, discipling others, and working in partnership. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, "Imitate me, as I imitate Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1). In the Gospels we see Jesus live out each of these 5 spiritual practices.

Mid-Week Teaching – Joy and Grief: Joy is the DestinationToday's teaching brings our mid-week series on joy and grief to a conclusion. Today we explore the destination: joy. As image-bearers of God we were created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Joy is the final destination.
