Venture Bros: A Venture Brothers Podcast

We have a quick update on the status of Casual Cartoons, as well as plans to record the Venture Bros finale that was promised all that time ago. There's also talk about the upcoming Frisky Dingo podcast and whether or not Matt will be one of the cohosts. He will. Maybe? For sure.As for the rest of today's episode: Kubo and the Two Strings was another one of those Laika films that was a bit overlooked at the box office, which is a shame. It's a marvelous piece of animation with a great story and some heavy emotion. Cheers.

This week on Corona Cartoons Bryan is joined by Alex Orona from Super GG Radio and friend Katherine Cliff to discuss the the Macaulay Culkin movie The Pagemaster. If you've ever seen those posters in the library with celebrities that say "READ," this movie is essentially that. This week on Corona Cartoons we're discussing the Don Bluth film The Secret of NIMH, which marks his departure from Disney and the beginning of quite the interesting pivot in his filmography. If the name doesn't sound familiar to you, the films might. From here he went on to do An American Tail, Land Before Time, Rock-A-Doodle, as well as the video games Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. This movie is also maybe linked to our love of rats in general. A great episode and a fun discussion. We also give an update to the status of Corona Cartoons and the upcoming Frisky Dingo podcast.

It's the one show that has the ability to appeal to people from vastly different walks of life, even 20+ years on. Bryan pulled a real Rusty Venture and lost all the audio to pt. 2 of Clerks... HOWEVER, we have a super fun episode on a show we never thought we would talk about, Rick and Morty!  Emily Blake picked 3 episodes for Bryan and Chewie to scratch the surface of this animated juggernaut!

The Corona Virus means that we can't record our Venture Bros wrap up, which in turn means we can't quite get to our Frisky Dingo watch-through. Bummer, right? Well, not anymore, because we're making lemonade out of a virus and doing a series about a bunch of different cartoons while we wait for this whole mess to blow over. We're starting our "Corona Cartoons" with the Clerks animated series. Well, the first half at least.
