In this Podcast, Coach Gambill talks about his approach to off the field development of his players and the improtance of seeking knowledge. Coach Gambill began his coaching career at Garland in 1985 and also coached at Duncanville, Southlake Carroll and Forney before arriving at Allen for the first time in 2001. Gambill left for Midway in 2010, and he had a 68-13 record in a six-season run that included advancing to the 4A Division I state final in 2011. He was named district Coach of the Year in each of his seasons at Midway. Coach Gambill returned to Allen as the Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic director in 2016. Brakel highlighted his coaching career with a magical 2007-2008 season that saw his Panthers accumulate a 38-1 overall record, win the Texas 5A State Championship and a Consensus Public School National Championship. He has coached at Cy-Fair High School, Texas A&M University, University of Florida, Conroe High School and Katy High School where he spent eight years as the offensive coordinator – before coming to Deer Park in 2003. He works as a director for the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association, and is a past Board of Director for the Texas High School Coaches Association. He is the Executive Director for the Bayou Bowl, the Texas vs Louisiana High School All Star Game. Coach Massey was inducted into the GHFCA Hall of Honor in 2013. He and his father, Barton Massey, are the only Father/Son inductees.
