  • The Good, The Bad and The Eh...

    12/01/2017 Duración: 01h02min

Welcome to the first episode in 2017 of The NYCFC Nation Podcast! The usual crew is in house today along with special guest Nick Roloson. NYCFC109 Show link: http://thenycfcnation.com/2017/01/the-good-the-bad-and-the-eh/ After our initial discussion on what was the worst thing we've done to watch a soccer match we dig right into the announcement that RJ Allen and Thomas McNamara were given new contracts. NYCFC also loaned out Jefferson Mena over to Ecuadorian club Barcelona FC and have recently loaned in Miguel Camargo. Conner Brandt was also seen with fellow NYC players in social media and we speculate on what that could mean. How freaked out are we really that New York City FC hasn't spent money on improving the roster compared to the rest of the MLS League? We then move into the recent MLS Combine and some players that could be targeted by New York City FC. Is it at all possible that NYC trades up for a first round draft pick? Towards the end we play a game called The Good, The Bad and The Eh in regards to

  • Wrapping Up 2016 with Updates, Rumors and The Evolution of Christmas Lights

    24/12/2016 Duración: 59min

Welcome to the NYCFC Nation Podcast! Yup you read that right. The NYCFC Fan Podcast and NYCFC Nation are now one and the same with the podcast. We are very excited about this announcement coming right at the end of the year and look forward to an amazing 2017. After our discussion about gift giving during the holidays, the evolution of Christmas light decorations and announcing that Chris M is now officially a member of NYCFC Nation we actually go through a ton of topics all related to New York City FC. We start with the MLS Draft and the fact that not one player was selected from NYC's list of unprotected players. We discuss Mix Diskerud's no trade clause and review the two new players that have recently joined NYCFC in Sean Okoli and Sean Everet Johnson. With the acquisition of Sean Johnson that gives New York City a roster of 4 goal keepers. Who is going to start the first match and who is going to be traded? The MLS came out with a list of available free agent players. Should anyone on this list be target

  • And Then There Were Two

    01/12/2016 Duración: 55min

In today's episode we discuss a wide range of New York City FC, league and world news. We start off by paying our respects to Associação Chapecoense de Futebol and everyone who was on Flight 2933. We send our condolences to all involved in this tragic event. With regards to NYCFC news we begin on the new contracts that were recently given to Mikey Lopez and Ethan White plus a full transfer of Shannon Gomez. We also have players who have not resigned with the team in Connor Brandt, Jason Hernandez, Diego Martinez and Tony Taylor. Could any of these players be resigned "on the cheap" by NYC? Let's also not forget Federico Bravo and Stiven Mendoza whose loans have expired and not renewed. Next on the lineup is the match up between Toronto FC and Montreal Impact. The game was taking place during the recording and we learned that Toronto will move on to the final facing the Seattle Saunders FC. Does Toronto FC have enough to finish off Seattle to give NYCFC a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League? There has been r

  • That's How You Know...

    18/11/2016 Duración: 57min

We are back with another episode and because of technical issues last week, while I was recording from Italy, we (@NYCFCFan and @_ChrisFC) go over that lost content. Also, although it's the off season we have a lot of news and updates to discuss. Frank Lampard announces that he leaves New York City FC clearing up a designated spot.. He certainly contributed in his second season with the team scoring X amount of goals. Next Andoni Iraola also announces his retirement just a few days after and although he did not fill the stat sheet his presence controlling the center defense and his personality off the field will truly be missed. Andoni Iraola has announced his retirement. Ending his 16 year playing career. pic.twitter.com/C1BR2ECw4v — NYCFC Nation (@NYCFCNation) November 17, 2016 Suddenly with these two players leaving the team and not knowing anything about Mix Diskerud it does leave a large question in the midfield. NYC also has 3 loans players on the team. Are all staying and who should we keep? Who will

  • Where Does New York City FC Move On To From Here?

    10/11/2016 Duración: 47min

Welcome to the NYCFC Fan Podcast. Today both Chris' join the conversation while we record via Skype because I am currently in Rome, Italy. Ciao! I left the country after the horrendous performance New York City FC had against Toronto FC in an attempt to find cheap international talent.   All jokes aside, we discuss the awful playoff match NYCFC had in its first (of many we expect) home playoff matches and many questions are still left unanswered during a successful second season for New York City. We first breakdown the lineup which, at the eyeball test, is a best 11 vs 11 match up. Could Patrick Vieira have done anything different?   We then discuss whether or not we can blame the 5-0 loss on one player or a team as whole. During post game locker room talks we learn what many players said and how they felt during and after the match. We discuss our thoughts on Eirik Johansen's performance and what we think of him moving forward. Is there a correlation between New York City FC playing poorly during big match

  • Historic Playoff Match Results in a Loss and now Come on New York!

    04/11/2016 Duración: 01h51s

Today's episode Chris P @NYCFCFan and Chris M @_ChrisFC who we all know as Perpetual Student on the NYCFC sub-reddits joins the show to discuss the historic first playoff match New York City FC had against Toronto FC. After the 2-0 loss many questions popped up in regards to Patrick Vieira's decision before and during the match. These questions all start off with Patrick's starting 11 lineup choice. We provide our input as to why Patrick started Mikey Lopez, Federico Bravo, Eirik Johansen and how all three fared. During one portion of the game David Villa is seen in mid-air kicking a Toronto FC players back. The ref did not call a foul but upon review the MLS still did not suspend Villa for that incident. Why not? Where there's smoke there fire....but did a only-players meeting really take place between New York City FC even after many players themselves said it never happened? Chris P also goes in depth about his experience at the press box section in BMO Field and the poor food options there. Leg 2 agains

  • Maxime Chanot: 10/30/2016 Post Match Interview

    31/10/2016 Duración: 02min

After the game reporters have a few private minutes with New York City FC Defender Maxime Chanot.  Hear what Chanot has to say after a tough first playoff match loss to Toronto FC. Not the results you wanted tonight but how did you find it out there? Maxime Chanot: Obviously we are disappointed. We came here to win the game and that’s what we wanted and tonight we left down 2-0. We are disappointed. I’m not saying we deserved it [the loss] but 0-0 or 1-0 would have been a better result. But this is football and we are looking forward and see what’s going to happen next Sunday. It’s an uphill battle but crazy things happen in football is that the mentality and confidence going into the second match? Maxime Chanot: Yes, for sure, otherwise there is no point to play the game. We are still looking forward to playing this game and we believe in ourselves, we believe in this team, we have to move forward with a positive spirit and you never know what’s going to happen in football, believe me. How difficult was the
