Recap Corner Boy do I hate being right in this scenario. In front of a sold out crowd of 27,545 fans NYCFC came up a goal short in their one zero loss to Sporting Kansas City. New York City Football Club's first loss of the season now drops them down to 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, tied with Orlando City SC at 5 points. NYCFC was without forward David Villa, midfielder Sebastian Velasquez and defender Josh Williams due to injury. Furthermore forwards Khiry Shelton and Adam Nemec were unavailable due to international call ups. The lone goal came from a thrown in by S

Now on to today's show Season 1 Episode 3. Recap Corner Well as you can hear the common denominator in those last files is Josh Saunders. If anything NYCFC's 1-0-2 record is thanks to Saunders' great goal keeping. Simply put, he saved us from losing this game against Colorado. NYCFC did not look good. There were only two shots on goal against Colorado and Saunders 7 saves were a season high for him. Yet our 5 points is what matters at the end of the day. Getting a tie on a road game is much better than a loss. NYCFC was down to 10  men after defender Shay Facey made his first start and got two y

Any reviews, comments or predictions about New York City Football Club will be played on the podcast. Recap Corner Wow. What a way to start the season. First a tie playing away against Orlando City SC and today a win at home against the New England Revolution. This is truly NYCFC History in the making as a little over 43,000 were in attendance on a very cold and windy Sunday at Yankee Stadium. NYCFC started the game much faster, compared to their first match, when with just four minutes on the clock Andrew Jacobson fed David Villa who then

  • NYCFC: S1E1 NYCFC 1 vs Orlando SC 1

    15/03/2015 Duración: 11min

Hi everyone and welcome to Season 1 Episode 1 of the New York City Football Club Fan Podcast. I'm super excited that you are listening and we are just going to start it off. Recap Corner We just finished playing against Orlando SC in the MLS debut for both teams. We played against Orlando and it was a bit of a slow game to start, especially NYCFC. They did look rusty and did not look good in the first 20 minutes. Little by little they added some momentum though they did end in a zero-zero draw at half. Into the second half we got a great goal from Mix Diskerud. Mix score a nice little curving low shot to the right corner past the Orlando City goalie Donnovan Ricketts to give NYCFC advantage. And of course, to end things on a sour note for NYCFC, Orlando needed to score in extra time to tie. And that was a goal shot from about the 18 yard box by Kaka off a free kick which bounced off a NYCFC defender and made the ball go to the opposite direction in which NYCFC's goalie, Josh Saunders was diving to.
