Paddy open's today's show by giving his power rankings from the past few weeks in baseball. One of the most shocking teams that have slid a bunch has been the Los Angeles Angels who have lost 11 games in a row coming into Monday, June 6. Following that Paddy talks about some of the most interesting trade pieces that could be on the move this season. One player, in particular, is Wilson Contreras who is lighting baseballs on fire with his bat this season. The only issue is that there has never been a team to trade for a catcher, in-season, to win the World Series. So far the surprise teams have to be Michigan and UCONN, both of whom are 2-0 thus far. Kevin then jumps into the news of the Phillies firing Joe Girardi this week. Kevin starts the episode by breaking down the top 21 in the RPI for NCAA Baseball. The National Champion has been ranked in the top 21 of the RPI on selection Sunday for 12 straight years. So you can narrow down your bracket winner to one of these 21 teams. Kevin then breaks down the conference tournaments thus far. The ACC breaks out their tournament into a "group play" style of tournament. The SEC and Big 12 play a two bracket, double elimination style. Kevin has never held back his disdain for missed calls or Angel Hernandez, but as a whole Umpires have improved in their accuracy of pitches called correctly dramatically over the past 15 years.
