Eric Snyder is the author of a book on the Oakland Raiders.  So lo and behold, the Raiders move to Las Vegas.Eric analyses the good and the possible bad for Las Vegas as they get theri first NFL franchise, a team that has moved from Oakland and LA before.Sure it will help the local economy.  But what happens after 5 years if the gambling town doesn't back the hometown Raiders?Eric has insight into other things than football.  He is a part-owner of Montana Meat Company, one of the best sportsbars and eateries in Las Vegas.  He tends bars so he's got some jokes in addition to inside football info.And in this interview with John and Susan, Eric takes a swipe at John's bartending abilities.  Pretty ballsy when you consider John is a graduate of Harvard ... Dale Bellis decided he wanted to see China since he was already in Hong Kong. So, he and his wife Kathy made a side trip to 3 Chinese cities.He gives an honest portrayal of China, the culture, and the people. He even asks some leading questions about how they think and how they feel about the US and their own government.One of his fascinating observations was the personal space in China.  Dale says people are right up in your face; they're nice but Americans might not be used to that.Bottom line: he says go and be open to the people.

My food and wine expert Susan Anzalone straightens me out on how to approach the conundrum of Conundrum.  You can use it before dinner, during or after dinner.  It is sweet or is it fruity.  I love it with lobster or blue cheese. One of the reasons we love it is because it has Mer et Soleil one of the greatest Chardonnays of all time. That is full of butter and oak.  But Conundrum also has viognier and muscat canelli.

Benghazi NY Times Report Reveals US Ignorance and OpportunismThe New York Times has completed its investigation on the attack on Benghazi.  It does not put this controversy to rest.  We will try here, though.It is Thursday January 2, 2014, coming to you from Sunset Beach, NC.Read the Times report.
