Seána most recently filmed the lead role of Aisling in the forthcoming RTÉ drama series Can't Cope, Won't Cope directed by Cathy Brady and written by Stefanie Preissner. Other projects due for release this year include Darren Thornton’s forthcoming feature film, A Date for Mad Mary in which she plays the lead. Ahead of this year's GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Grace Corry talks to festival director Noel Sutton and festival programmer Roisín Geraghty. For the past 24 years GAZE International LGBT Film Festival has been providing a platform for Irish and International LGBT cinema in Dublin. This episode of InConversation features Michael Lavelle ISC, a graduate of the National Film School of Ireland and an award-winning writer, director and cinematographer. He won the World Cinematography Award for Documentary at Sundance 2010 for His and Hers, his debut feature documentary as a DOP. The Sundance jurors singled out the cinematography "for its Vermeer like qualities and formal restraint in conveying the power of ordinary emotional lives". He was also the DOP on the multi-award winning short film Undressing My Mother, which screened at Cannes, was highly commended at Sundance and went on to win the European Academy Award for Best Short Film in 2005. Patrick's Day, his first dramatic feature as DOP, received its world premiere at SXSW2014. The film went on to win Best Feature at Galway Film Fleadh and Best Film at Woodstock Film Festival where Michael was also awarded the prestigious Haskell Wexler Award for Best Cinematography. The IFI present Haunted Landscapes – A Season of Folk Horror from 16th-30th July. According to David O'Mahony, Head of Programming at the IFI, "the term folk horror has been used to yoke together disparate cultural artefacts that exhibit common traits: an interest in paganism; traditional, rural communities with a connection to the land and its regenerative cycles; the importance of ritual and superstition over scientific rigour." The season welcomes renowned horror fiction novelist and critic Kim Newman to Dublin, who is attending the opening day to introduce Witchfinder General, The Wicker Man and Quartermass and the Pit.
