Greg Powers of Next Level Athlete updates us on Gruver WR Jalin Conyers, McKinney North TE Brandon Frazier, North Shore DB Denver Harris, and Lone Star QB Chandler Galban. Then, we try out a new experience for live viewers of the show.

Mount Vernon caused a stir on Friday with the controversial decision to hire Art Briles as head coach. We talked about that move and Bru McCoy's potential transfer back to USC from Texas. Then, Matt Stepp was out at the Hurst 7-on-7 tournament over the weekend and caught up with the new head coaches at Rockwall Heath and Mesquite Poteet. 

We're deep in the final week of putting out this summer's DCTF magazine, so we didn't have a ton of time today. However, we let listeners know again when we'll be revealing this year's cover, the subscription deadline if you want the magazine before it hits shelves, and answered a handful of viewer questions, including how Permian looks heading into 2019. 

Greg Powers of Next Level Athlete joins us in studio to talk about Cy Ridge DB Je'Vaun Dabon, Fort Bend Marshall QB Malik Hornsby, Austin Del Valle WR Caleb Burton and Manor RB Tahj Brooks. Then, we announce the 2019 Summer Magazine cover reveal (Monday, June 3), before turning to Matt Stepp, who caught up with Riley Dodge to talk about a strong first year with the Dragons, and checked in with Rudy Rangel to chat about his Cougars.

Matt Stepp was out at the Grapevine 7-on-7 SQT over the weekend, and caught up with a couple DFW area coaches. Before we get to those interviews, we reveal a little bit of the rollout for this summer's magazine, including the cover reveal and some behind-the-scenes shows we'll do in early-to-mid June.

Who are a few surprise teams to watch in 2019? What does 4A DI look like right now? Would ESPN+ start broadcasitng more TXHSFB games? Did someone really ask for a Texas Football Today 10K race? Rice head coach Mike Bloomgren is about to enter his second season at the helm of the Owls, and was kind enough to drop by and talk about what he learned in his first year, a culture of "intellectual brutality," what he would tell his former self about taking the job, the players he's excited about ahead of the 2019 campaign, and his favorite places to eat in Houston. 

Greg Powers of Next Level Athlete talks about the recruitment and the abilities of The Colony's Christian Gonzalez, Lake Ridge's Caleb Rogers, Flower Mound Marcus' Garrett Nussmeier and Fort Bend Austin's Troy Omeire. Then, Matt Stepp caught up with Hillsboro's Steve Hale and El Paso Americas' Patrick Melton.

Matt Stepp is roaming the state, from coaches clinics to 7-on-7 state qualifiers, and he's catching up with head coaches along the way. Today, it's Brian Bell at a tournament his team won, and J.J. The former Wichita Falls Hirschi head coach gets a bit of a homecoming by becoming a Buccaneer, but he knows it will be a big task in a tough district. We asked him about that challenge, the difference between 4A and 6A, and what TCU fans should expect from his former star running back Daimarqua Foster. Before that, we recap some news around the state, starting with the death of Newton head coach W.T. Johnston, a great high school football coach who transcended the sport toward the end of his life. 

Which non-district TXHSFB games are we most looking forward to? What are the most underrated non-conference college football games in Texas for 2019? Which TXHSFB hires do we like? There's been a flurry of activity late in the spring in the high school coaching ranks, and we recap some of the biggest moves that have happened, and look at a few openings still to come. Then, we debate where each of the 12 FBS coaches in Texas currently ranks on the hot seat scale heading into 2019.

Then we recapped the Texas high school football players taken in the NFL draft before playing Matt Stepp's interview with South Grand Prairie head coach Brent Whitson at last weekend's Frisco State 7-on-7 Qualifying Tournament.

Greg Powers of Next Level Athlete swings by the studio to talk about the biggest recruiting news in Texas this week, including the fact that the last 19 commitments in Texas have been to out of state schools. We talk a bit about that before Keith Smith of Big League Lighting joins us to show off one of the coolest man cave accessories we've ever seen.

The head Bulldog joined us live from regional golf to talk about last year's huge offensive turnaround, how excited he is for the upcoming season, and the keys to success for Tahoka. Tepper also runs through some big milestones coming down the pipeline for the 2019 season.

The Vikings have a new head coach, but he's a familiar face around the program. We asked Byrd about taking over for JL Geist, his early message to his kids, and what it's like to sit in the big chair now in Fort Bend. Before that, Tepper listed off a few programs to keep an eye on this coming fall, thanks to a ton of starters returning.
