  • How to Release the Grip Imposter Syndrome Has on You with Kim Meninger

    18/10/2023 Duración: 35min

Let’s talk about Imposter Syndrome. While Imposter Syndrome is a universal experience there are times when this experience is activated more than others. A common trigger for Imposter Syndrome is when we take on new and expanded roles. There’s excitement at first and then the potential for doubting yourself will creep in. Imposter Syndrome, and the reactions women often have to it - overpreparing or withdrawing, can hobble women just as they are given an opportunity to make a greater impact. In August I had an opportunity to speak on a panel for Aspen Tech’s Women’s Leadership Forum. That is where I met Kim Meninger. We instantly clicked and the added bonus is Kim specializes in Imposter Syndrome and even did a TED Talk on the subject. In this episode Kim and I discuss: Imposter Syndrome as a fear response: Kim likens imposter syndrome to our brain's fight or flight response and offers practical steps to manage it. • Dr. Brittney Ezell on Redefining Failure

    13/09/2023 Duración: 31min

Are you ready to redefine failure and discover how to tap into confidence? I’m chatting with Dr. Brittney Ezell, a former athlete and motivational speaker, who shares her unique perspective on failure, courage, and quitting. Here are the key takeaways from this thought-provoking discussion: 1. Failure is Not the End. Brittney emphasizes that failure is not the opposite of success but an integral part of it. It's an event, not a quality of a person. Instead of fearing failure, we should embrace it as an opportunity to learn and grow. 2. Courage is a Choice. Courage isn't an inherent trait; it's a choice we make when faced with challenges. By acknowledging that courage can be summoned when needed, we can build our confidence over time. 3. Confidence is Rooted in Past Success. Confidence is not something we can instantly generate. It's a product of our past successes. Building confidence is like stacking small wins, which eventually lead to a strong belief in oneself. 4. The Importance of Mentorship. Surrounding

    02/08/2023 Duración: 22min

How companies support their female employees that are going through perimenopause and menopause is starting to hit the headlines. Think about it. Most women go through the menopause transition between the ages of 45 and 60. This is when women are in their professional prime. It’s nearly impossible to be your best at work when you are dealing with hot flashes, fatigue and brain fog. This is especially true when there’s no support for what you are going through. There are changes on the horizon, but we’ll usher in these changes much more quickly if we can become active participants in the solution. For that reason, I’ve invited Tamsen Fadal on the Women Taking the Lead podcast. Meet Tamsen Fadal Tamsen Fadal is an Emmy award-winning newscaster and author. • Your Clothing Exudes Your Leadership

    26/07/2023 Duración: 47min

Did you know the clothes you wear impact how you perform as a leader? And they impact how others interact with you. I remember from my Catholic School days being told that uniforms were worn for a couple different reasons. One, they helped to level-set students from different socio-economic levels. And second, students who wore uniforms behaved better and performed better in their classes. You’d think we would move past having our clothing impact our performance but it’s not the case. The clothing we wear impacts our ability to focus and also impacts how others interact with us. To chat more about this, I am bringing back Jenny Eversole from Style Space. Jenny originally appeared in episode 466, Elevate Your Style, Simplify Your Routine and Save Money. In that episode Jenny and I chatted about: How fashion changed during the pandemic Hybrid Dressing: Styling for the office vs. Zoom My experience working with Tami Some takeaway tips that anyone could apply right away Jenny is back with Tamy Lugo, the stylist
