  • Most Disappointing Mets Team Ever?

    21/08/2016 Duración: 01h05min

James Flippin of WOR Radio joins Mike Silva. James is the producer for the Mets pre and postgame show as well as the Sports Zone. The Mets 2016 season has turned into a mini-disaster. Is this the most disappointing season in team history? Mike thinks so. Why is the media defending Terry Collins? You all know Mike's position on Collins and why he wants him fired. What will change in 2017 with Collins at the helm? Finally, Yoenis Cespedes is being asked to “carry” the Mets the rest of the way. Even if he does will he return next season? A long-term commitment to Cespedes has ramifications for the future. Assuming Jay Bruce is back for another year where does that leave Michael Conforto? Another year at Triple-A? Trade bait?Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

  • The Dog Days of August

    08/08/2016 Duración: 01h05min

Tonight John Delcos of the New York Mets Report to talks to Mike Silva about the latest in Mets baseball. They dissect the Mets deadline moves and whether it was a wise decision for Sandy Alderson to acquire Jay Bruce for Dilson Herrera. Is Jon Niese an important part of the rest of 2016? With Logan Verrett’s struggles it’s not far-fetched. John tells Mike why the Mets need to move away from Yoenis Cespedes this offseason, if he opts out and how his golfing incident is a bigger problem than Terry Collins let on. He also believes the Mets will not break away from this Wild Card “muck” of teams and miss the playoffs in 2016. They grade Alderson and Collins throughout the segment. Delcos puts much of the blame on Alderson while Silva tends to believe both Terry Collins and Dan Warthen have done a poor job in the dugout this year. They wrap-up the program with a fun “what-if” when it comes to Alex Rodriguez and how Mets history would have changed if he signed on with the club after the 2000 season.Advertising

Mike Silva is joined by nationally syndicated radio host and contributor to Metsmerized Online, Tim Donner, on today’s trade deadline program.
