  • Episode 343: Mom and Dad

    04/02/2020 Duración: 38min

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in geek! Just no time this past week to motivate us to get out and watch a movie in the theaters so instead we talk about the nerd news of the past week, review our streaming movie of Mom and Dad and answer last week's podquestion of "which is your favorite Monty Python sketch?" This we watched our listener TK's suggestion of Mom and Dad on Hulu. Well, let's start off with a question. "when did Nick Cage stop getting directed and just go full tilt odd ball?" That's the question that we both kept asking ourselves as we watched through this strange but entertaining movie. I really loved the way the movie was shot and edited, which gave it a very unique feel. While it's very much a zombie movie but with parents killing kids, it does have some fun to keep you engaged. The biggest thing to pull you out of it is Nick Cage's "acting." While Bat didn't enjoy it as much, we both did say that it was worth the watch.

  • Episode 342: Lady Bird

    29/01/2020 Duración: 30min

Hello everyone, welcome to our slightly under the weather and delayed week in geek! We both got hit early with the plague so no full spoiler filled theatrical review. Instead I bring you the Hammer only spoiler free review of Just Mercy. Maybe it's the sickness or the cold, but there just wasn't too much news so we instead talk a little about what we're still (not) playing, our streaming review of Lady Bird and answer last week's podquestion of "which streaming service would you choose if you could only watch one for the rest of the year?"

  • Episode 341: 1917

    20/01/2020 Duración: 01h03min

Hello everyone, welcome to our first theatrical review(s) for the new year! We kind of didn't have a show last week so we stack up our 2 theatrical reviews of Underwater and 1917 and provide both our spoiler free and spoiler filled reviews. We also touch on a few nerd news of delays, Sony skipping out on E3, Fox being disolved, and the Morbius Trailer. This episode we also spend some time talking about what we're (not) playing, our streaming review of Overlord and answer last week's podquestion of "what is your favorite puzzle in a game?"

  • Episode 340: Hellboy-ish

    07/01/2020 Duración: 37min

Hello everyone, welcome to our first week in Geek for the new year! The year kind of starts off with a whimper in terms of nerd news and streaming reviews, but it's just the beginning. This episode we spend most of our time talking about what we're playing, the sheer lack of enjoyment we had with Hellboy (2019) and the free shit good shit on Playstation plus for January. We also answer last week's podquestion of "What is your New Years resolution?"

  • Episode 339: 2019 Year in Review

    30/12/2019 Duración: 01h10min

Hello everyone, welcome to our very special, and last week in Geek for the year! It's the end of the year as we know it and we feel fine~ And we're excited to review all of 2019 and look over our favorite games we played, streaming movies we watched and most and least enjoyable theatrical releases. We also discuss our streaming review of 6 Underground and answer last week's podquestion of "What is your favorite stormtrooper?" This week's streaming review was brought to you by me. We watched the Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay movie 6 Underground on Netflix. First off, let's just appreciate the numerous action-gasam scenes present. It's as if someone proposed that they wanted to make a movie with Reynolds directed by Bay and... kind of stopped there and just shoved money in their direction. This is not a great movie by any stretch but it sure as hell was a fun movie. Both of us recommend you taking the almost 2 hours out of your life to just sit back and enjoy the ride. For next week, we're going to watch

  • Episode 338: Star Wars Rise of Skywalker

    20/12/2019 Duración: 01h41min

Hello everyone, welcome to our very special week in Geek! This is our Star Wars spoilerific episode. So consider yourself warned, we give you about minutes of our impressions before laying into this movie with every bit of spoiler material you can imagine. We are joined, once again by our friend TK, as we break down the Rise of Skywalker After the travesty that was The Last Jedi, writer/director JJ Abrams returns to the Star Wars universe to try and salvage the Skywalker saga. Abrams comes out of the corner desperately throwing hay-makers. While some of these punches hit, more often than not, they miss the mark. Instead of feeling like a cohesive trilogy, the Disney Star Wars movies feel like cash in squeals.

Then we wrap everything up by reviewing last episodes streaming review of Welcome to Marwen and answering the Podquestion of "What planet in the solar system would you most want to visit?" This week's streaming review was Welcome to Marwen on HBOgo. Now this one was kind of sad, but not in the way you'd imagine. Both of us were pretty excited to see this one but missed it in the theaters. We loved the stylized look of the dolls and even in execution we loved it in the movie. But the problem that we each had with this movie was that we just didn't feel for the main character. There were so many plot threads and conversations that just really didn't lead anywhere and didn't really help us

We also answer last week's podquestion of "What is your favorite montage song?" This week's streaming review was The Perfection on Netflix. Okay, if you're still reading then there's no talking sense into you so let's get to it. The way this movie continues to subvert your expectations and evolve the circumstances and characters is truly something to witness. The periodic "rewinds" that show you the other side of things allows you to slowly chip aw
