We can’t reach our neighbors and the nations, we can’t fulfill God’s mission, unless we follow Jesus' example and get Involved! In Matthew 4-9, we discover how to get involved in our world for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

What kinds of things did Jesus pray for His followers? That can give us some clues as to what we should prioritize in our prayers for one another. In John 17, Jesus sets an example for us in praying for one another as we go on mission into the world to make disciples.

Here Jesus has given us a pattern to follow as a church family. Just as Jesus invested in His disciples, He expects us to invest in one another as a church family so we can together carry out His Kingdom purposes.

We don't have to wonder "What Would Jesus Do?" because the Gospels tell us what Jesus DID do. In this sermon series, we'll answer the question, "What Did Jesus Do?" to help us learn how to live today. In this first message, Pastor David uses two passages from Luke’s gospel to help us look at the kinds of people Jesus invited into the Kingdom of God. These are the same kinds of people He expects us to invite as well.

In Mark’s account of the first Lord’s Supper, we discover how Jesus prepared a table before us—a table unlike any other, one that came at the cost of His life and prepares us to sit at His heavenly table.

We have journeyed with David from green pastures and still waters, down right paths, through dark valleys, past gathered enemies, to a banquet table filled with honor and abundance. And here at the end, as we approach the Father’s palace, we can say with confidence that whatever may come in life, we can be assured that goodness and mercy will always be in the picture.

Psalm 23:5 illustrates how we can have confidence, peace, and joy in the midst of the battle because our Good Shepherd and Gracious Host has given us three important sources of relief for our war-weary souls.

Psalm 23 gives us a balanced view of life. It doesn’t linger long in green pastures or beside still waters, but quickly takes us into the dark valleys of life. And Psalm 23:4 offers us hope and comfort as we walk through the dark valleys of life: Our Shepherd walks with us to protect and guide us.

God our Shepherd isn’t looking for perfect sheep. He takes us as we are and helps us become more like Jesus. He knows we are sheep. He understands our tendencies. Maybe your soul is cast down or you feel stuck and helpless. Maybe you’ve drifted away from your closeness with God and wandered into other fields, believing there was something better over there. Your Shepherd is looking for you. Won’t you come home?
