Why is everyone so selfish? Why is it that everyone condemns others for things that we do ourselves? Why is it that everyone violates the very standards of behavior we hold up as good and right? Audio Transcript: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of life. And I pray, Lord, help us be a church that puts love of life into practice. Help us be a people that love babies, children, support families. Mothers are vital, not just valuable. And help us be a counterculture here in Boston, where we love children more than we love pets or plants. And Lord, we do thank you that we are having conversation about abortion now in our country. We thank you that Roe v. Wade might potentially be overturned. I never thought I'd see that in my lifetime, but, Lord, thank you for that. We pray it does get overturned. We pray that abortion just stops, just pray the need for it is removed. We pray for a great awakening in this nation where people do fear you, they submit to Christ and they accept his grace and they follow the moral law, which would prevent so much bloodshed. Heavenly father, we glorify you. We focus our full attention upon you right now. Help us remove any distractions, any worries, any anxiety and help us focus only on you. We glorify you often in our lives. You're just too small because we aren't glorifying you. We're glorifying things ourselves. We pray, remove all of that and help us focus on Jesus Christ on his life, his death, his burial, his resurrection. And because of all of everything he's done, we have access to the presence of God with a righteousness that is not our own. That's the prerequisite to be in the family of God to have a righteousness that is perfect. We thank you that when we repent of sin, believe in you, Jesus, you give us that righteousness as a gift. If you haven't known, we've been going through the book of Romans. We are in the middle of our series on Romans and we are taking it nice and slow and digging in deep to this text.
