With 7 players away on international duty it was always going to be difficult for the Whitecaps to beat Sporting KC. Still there was hope that the boys in blue could pull it off and keep their playoff drive going for another week. However, an implosion late in the game cost the Whitecaps the match and most likely their last chance to make the playoffs this year.
