Shawn Coleman is back with another edition of GBB LIVE!. Shawn first discusses the multiple needs for the Grizzlies this offseason, and how each of the different avenues for the Grizzlies to fill those needs could play a part in offseason decisions. On this week's episode of the Next Gen Podcast, Bryson and Alex give their reactions to Ja Morant’s latest court issues. We start by describing how we saw the video and what this does to his image overall. Next, we discuss how long his suspension could be for a second offense. Could he miss more than 25 games? Finally, we discuss how the situation and the coming suspension could affect the Grizzlies' off-season. Will they make moves with the suspension in mind? Or operate as usual and focus on building for the postseason.

On this week’s episode, Bryson and Alex open up, talking about the All-defensive teams. Jaren Jackson Jr. makes history by becoming the youngest player with two first-team all-defense selections and a DPOY. While Dillon Brooks’ second team selection could help raise his overall market value as he heads into free agency. Next, we discuss the All-NBA selections and how  Ja Morant was snubbed. This will cause him to lose out on 39 million dollars over the next five years. We discuss why he did not make the team and how the Grizzlies could capitalize on this unfortunate situation. (This was recorded before the news that Dillon Brooks was officially not returning next season, but we both operated as if this was the case) On this week’s episode, Bryson and Alex discuss the end of the Grizzlies' season in game six. Starting with the poor performance overall and specifically how all of the big three struggled in the biggest game of the season. Next, we move on to the off-season and talk about what the Grizzlies need moving forward. Starting with a replacement for Dillon Brooks, who will not be returning next season, along with who else the Grizzlies should look at free agency. How should the Grizzlies' Front office change their mindset going forward?  We discuss how they will approach the draft and draft picks as they move into a new stage of development as a team.

This week's episode looks at how injuries derailed the Grizzlies, looked at the best and worst moves from the front office, played a game of fact or fiction, and handed out their 2023 player grades. Embrace Debate: The Grizzlies caught the injury bug at the wrong time this season. Coming into the playoffs Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke were already out, Ja then reinjured his hand in game one, and Kennard missed game six with a shoulder. The injuries became too much for Memphis to overcome with a depleted bench unit. Kleiman Corner: Zach Kleiman is heralded as one of the best general managers in basketball but had a few misses that led to that short, inexperienced bench in the playoffs. Draft trades sent out ROY candidate Walker Kessler and bench scorer De'Anthony Melton. Acquiring Kennard was a step in the right direction to address shooting concerns but it was only the first step to what might be a roster overhaul in the summer. On this week's episode, the Starting 5 began the show by recapping the Grizzlies' first-round loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and determining if this season was a failure. Giannis Antetokounmpo had an interesting take on categorizing a team's season as a failure or not after the Bucks' disappointing loss to the Miami Heat. Hence, the guys discussed the same for the Grizzlies. In the next segment, the Starting 5 discussed what one roster move they would like to see the Grizzlies either make or at least pursue in the off-season, not including the potential departure of Dillon Brooks. Speaking of Dillon Brooks, to close the show, the Starting 5 gave their final (hopefully) goodbyes to the player who has spent the last six years with the Grizzlies. Dillon Brooks has been a polarizing figure, to say the least, and with his free agency pending, it seems that now is the time for both he and the Memphis Grizzlies to go their separate ways.
