Recently, Pope Francis stated, “He who does not look to the cross with faith will die in his sins, will not receive salvation.”  Is this statement scriptural?  Does our salvation truly lie in putting our faith in an instrument used ancient societies to slowly, cruelly, and painfully execute criminals?  What does the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible say about the cross?  Are we justified in placing our faith in the cross our should we place our faith elsewhere? Do you have a sexual fantasy?  Well, be careful, because there is a Michigan Pastor whose sexual fantasy ended with deadly results.  In the process of carrying out his sexual fantasy, 55 year old Pastor John D. White, of Christ Community Fellowship beat and strangled his 24 year old neighbor to death.  There is no doubt that this is a case of sexual fantasy gone very, very, wrong!  However, it does lead to the question, are sexual fantasies wrong or are some fantasies wrong while others are not? Sexual fantasy is immensely varied.  From what may be considered harmless fantasies like a bed filled with roses, nurse patient role play to orgies, deviant sadistic practices and bondage with whips, chains, ropes and so forth.  There is probably a sexual fantasy that appeals to you in some way. But the question remains, does it matter?  Does it matter at all from a biblical perspective as to the nature of the fantasy?  After all, fantasy simply means it’s in your mind.  It’s not something acted upon.  In other word

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held an annual convention at the end of July, 2011.  They addressed a number of issues that face African-Americans, in particular, the vicious cycle of crime and unemployment that plagues black men and youths.  They cite the loss of manufacturing jobs, shrinking government jobs and the recession as major contributors, but the primary factor cited was the low level of education or rather, the lack thereof.  Is pushing for higher standards in urban schools where the majority of the students are minorities really the key to breaking the vicious cycle of violence and prison?  Will pushing our youth to strive for educational excellence keep them from becoming fodder for the criminal justice system or should we be looking beneath the surface of inferior education?  Join us as we search the scriptures for answers to these questions and more. The Boy Scouts’ Motto is Be Prepared!  But what could have possibly prepared eleven, twelve and even fifteen year olds for encounters with sexual predators?  Especially when the same predators were suppose to teach these children high moral values.  There are hundreds of accounts of these sexual molestation cases contained in what is termed the “Perversion Files” or "ineligible volunteer files".  According to the Scouts these files were meant to be a “buffer” to prevent the predators from re-entering scouting.  Unfortunately there have been numerous failures.  After analyzing the files it was determined that in many instances sexual deviants were kicked out of the Scouts only to be allowed back in at a different location and sometimes under a different name.  The stories are horrendous!  The stories tell in somewhat explicit detail of boys being subjected to nudity, being fondled and raped by their Scout Masters.  Keep in mind these are children.  Keep in mind the Boy Scouts’ motto, “Be Prepared”.  Be prepare

Prominent Atheist, Richard Dawkins, admitted to God’s existence or at least to a very small chance that God exists.  This admission took place in a debate with Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury.  This debate was not what was expected of two men deemed to be polar opposites on the existence of God and evolution.  Not only did Dawkins give the nod to God’s existence but the Archbishop apparently agreed with evolution.  If these two men, who are highly esteemed and notable in their achievements in opposing arenas, can come to agreement, is this an indication that we all may some-day come to similar conclusions?  Listen in as the Brothers in The Virtual Living Room discuss God’s existence and evolution. Disease - A disorder or incorrectly functioning organ, part, structure of system of the body resulting from the effect of genetic or developmental errors,infection, poisons, nutritional deficiency or imbalance, toxicity, or unfavorable environmental factors, illness; sickness; ailment. In today's world, if someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol, because of their addiction, they would be diagnosed as having a disease.  This is usually descibed as a mental imbalance due to their lack of self control. Could this also be true for other things that we do that we know are wrong, unhealthy, or most importantly, unrighteous in the eyes of GOD? But because of our lack of self control or lust, we are unable to or have a very difficult time quiting (repenting).
