Having kids is such a challenge. It's serious work. But if we can be good parents and teach them right, and love them with our whole heart, I'd say we're doing something great! As we have been learning and growing up so much in these last 2 years, we have found a pattern among all the guru's and mentors. Self Government is SO IMPORTANT for a happy life. Manage what you can control and choose happiness and peace despite the chaos around you.  It all comes down to governing yourself better. It takes work, agency, honesty, and accountability. Michael and Becca have lived in a mansion and they have lived with 4 kids for a whole summer in a tiny home! At this point we have decided we prefer.... BOTH! We love both so much for so many different reasons. We love the space of a big house for all our things. But there's something magical about living a minimalistic lifestyle in a tiny home! Probably because it's such a complex issue. There are so many different types of bullying and abuse that can happen to a person. We often don't even realize when it's happening. Then other times no offense is intended and yet we feel hurt by an interaction. So how do we deal with bullies and abuse? It's not easy but it's worth learning about. For us, we decided to have a lot of kids like our parents before us. We had no idea it would be this hard. Our parents really made it look easy. But today we're talking about discipline and teaching kids to work hard. Ending the Season 2 run with Becca sharing some stories from her high school years and going off to college! Becca was nervous to go do high school, but when she got there she realized boys thought she was cute so she could get away with almost anything. Kids were nice to her and she had a lot of friends. She also tried out for Miss Mount Pleasant Pageant and won first attendant. Becca tells about her boy friend and sending him off on his mission. It was not the homecoming he always dreams about that's for sure! But he was able to learn a lot and spend a lot of time with his family. If anything, it opened the door for him to revisit Utah and meet Rebecca! So from that perspective it was a HUGE blessing in disguise. He served for 2 years in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. He tells stories of the families he taught, the missionaries he served with, and how his life changed forever. Serving God is the most fulfilling thing anyone can do in life. I know God loves all of his children here on earth. It's Mission Time! Michael Beach shares going to his very first area. He talks about his struggles in getting out of his shell and talking to people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One of his biggest challenges was being able to take critique. He didn't handle any well meaning criticism well at all!  When his trainer was getting ready to leave him in charge of the area Michael did not want to make the decisions. It was too difficult having his choices picked apart for errors. Then, at the end of his first area he got a new companion. This elder worked hard but didn't follow some of the rules. Michael and him committed to a huge goal of success and worked hard for it! When they accomplished it they did something very bad. Michael has entered the Missionary Training Center for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints and has begun his missionary training! He shares getting his first companions and life as a missionary in the MTC. He gained 10 pounds eating a lot. He also had a lot of fun goofing off and hiding a treasure for his brother. Aside from all the fun and games, he shares how he spent most of his time in class learning how to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how to help others understand the scriptures and doctrine of Christ. Michael as he made the preparations to serve a mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, and Becca as she prepared to send her boyfriend off on his mission! We talk about keeping a journal and dating right up until the time that Michael left on his mission. Michael would go out with missionaries serving in his home ward. As he was getting ready to go on his 2 year mission he would spend as much time with other missionaries as possible! Get ready for an emotional roller coaster! Being a teenager is hard! Emotional, teasing, angry, ambitious, stifled, and awkward! Plus puberty and bullies adding to the struggle. It's a hard time that everyone has to go through eventually. But Michael and Becca share the good and the bad. They're personal struggles and triumphs. After all, we're only human too. After a long day just being a mom Becca started to feel pain around her belly button. It slowly began hurting worse and worse. There was no explanation for what had caused the pain. She tried to go to sleep but the pain was too much to be able to rest. Finally at 4 am Becca woke up Michael and they agreed it was time to go to the Emergency Room to see if the Doctor could diagnose what was causing the pain. After a CT scan they were able to determine her appendix was enflamed and would need to be removed! So Becca was prepped for same day surgery and they removed her Appendix! The world is going through a really challenging time right now. The Corona Virus has taken us all unexpectedly and we're just trying to survive and know how to move forward. We're optimistic for the future but we also want to be prepared so we're not left unable to eat and provide for our family! So, to prepare the best we can we're going back to the basics! We're starting a FARM! And it's so much fun! We got chickens, and bunnies, and bees so far. But we're also prepping a fantastic garden so we can truly live off the land if the store shelves eventually are empty! We'll be taken care of!
