Subtle Disease - Respectable Sins
22/06/2025Each Sunday we will tackle a subtle, often-overlooked sin that Christians tend to tolerate in themselves and others—sins that don't make headlines but quietly erode spiritual health and community life. Inspired by Jerry Bridges' book Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins We Tolerate, this series will help us examine our hearts and pursue holiness with humility and dependence on grace. Our goal is to shine the light of Scripture on sins we often excuse, minimize, or overlook – and to rediscover the power of the gospel to transform even the most “acceptable” patterns of sin.

The God Who Writes the Last Chapter - Same God
11/05/2025The story of Jacob is sprinkled throughout the book of Genesis....he is born in Genesis 25 and dies in Genesis 49 and is buried in Genesis 50. His fingerprints consume almost half of the book of Genesis. So I thought it would be a great challenge to explore the God of Jacob. What do we learn about God in His encounters with Jacob over the course of his life? What is it about God that Jacob learned....very slowly...but sustained him throughout life? And even more importantly, what did he learn that can sustain us throughout our lives? We serve the same God 3,800 years later – and if we call upon the God of Jacob, what would that mean for us? Because – we serve the same God!

The Worst - Scoundrels
20/04/2025We know the stories of the heroes of the faith (and their flaws) ... but how much do we know about the stories of those more scandalous characters who appear in the biblical record? Not much, I think. I think it could be helpful (at least I hope it proves to be helpful) to explore their stories.
