  • Tapping For When You Hit An Emotional Wall (Pod #485)

    28/10/2020 Duración: 14min

Because of everything going on in the world at the moment, my theory is that we are all paying a 20% energy tax from the moment we get up. It's as if we are losing 20% of our energy before we have even started the day because of the underlying feelings of worry and overwhelm. Some days these feelings are at the front of our minds and hearts, other days they're constantly playing in the background. At some point these long term energy and emotional leaks add up and we just hit an emotional or energetic wall. Life feels too much for us to manage and we just break down. This week I have a tap-along audio and tapping script to help when you feel like you have slammed into a brick wall. Reminder: I have compiled a list of over 50 free tapping resources to help to manage all of the emotions stirred up by the pandemic. • Tapping For When Everything Goes Wrong (Pod #484)

    21/10/2020 Duración: 19min

There are times when things go wrong and then there are times when things REALLY go wrong. The week of recording this podcast my website was down for a number of days and I was unable to access my email. I experienced a range of strong emotions around the situation including feeling frustrated, maddened and overwhelmed. This week's podcast contains the tapping you can do when life is going very wrong. As well as tapping for the big picture "things are going very wrong" issue, I have also included tapping for how to calm down in the moment and how to tap where your emotions get the better of you and you do things you regret. (You will hear exactly why I needed to do that type of tapping in the audio.) This is a tap-along that I recommend you bookmark and save so that when something similar comes up for you, you will be ready. Support the podcast! • Tapping for Comparanoia (Pod #483)

    14/10/2020 Duración: 14min

Many of us have a love/hate relationship with social media. One one hand I genuinely love how easy social media makes it to stay connected to my friends and family from all over the world. It's great to be able to see what they are up to. I love seeing their kids grow up and I love being able to share a joke across the country and across the world. At the same time, looking at the seemingly perfect pictures others post on social media about all the good times they are having can be perilous. This is especially true for the current situation we are in the middle of right now. As we struggle with our day-to-day we are confronted by pictures of all the incredibly creative things people are doing with their free time and how they seem to be handling this mess so much better than we are. It's vital to remember that social media tends to show us a carefully curated version of people's lives. It is the good things. It is the happy things. It is the pretty things. When we only see the best of other people's lives it'

  • Your Brain, Your Organs, Your Nervous System, Your Emotions, And Tapping w/ Jen Cincurak (Pod #482)

    07/10/2020 Duración: 36min

The more time I spend studying the human body, the more its complexity amazes me. We are a combination of biological functions, thoughts, beliefs, memories, and an entire pharmacy of biochemistry that is released and absorbed by our bodies based on a whole host of factors. Even though our system is so complex, it does work in predictable ways and this is true for the way we experience and remember trauma. Understanding how these processes work makes it easier to use tapping to create healing and transformation. In this week's podcast Jen Cincurak and I explore how the brain, organs, and nervous system are involved in trauma. We also talk about how this understanding can make it easier to achieve more powerful results with tapping. Support the podcast! • Why you shouldn't use words when tapping w/ Gwyneth Moss (Pod #481)

    30/09/2020 Duración: 44min

The most common reason that most people don't tap on their own is because they don't know what words to say. Nearly everyone is taught to tap using words, so this preoccupation is understandable. In this podcast Gwyneth Moss and I have a conversation that has completely changed the way that I teach tapping and how I encourage most people to tap on their own. The best part about it is that it doesn't require you to come up with any words or phrases, which makes it easier to tap. Much of what Gwyneth Moss talks about in this interview is based on Gunilla Hamne and Ulf Sandström's Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT). You can find out more about TTT by visiting their website peacefulheart.se. Download the Traffic Light Tapping Handout that Gwyneth talks about during the interview. Support the podcast! • Moving Past An Extinction Burst (Pod #480)

    25/09/2020 Duración: 18min

You have been there before. You're trying to make a positive change in your life, such as giving up sweets. The first day is hard. The second is harder. The third day, for some unknown reason, is really easy. You feel awesome. You are making progress. Real change is happening! But then along comes day four… You come home from work and find yourself eating one little piece of candy. You think, “This is no big deal. It is only one piece.” Before you know it, one piece turns into two, then four, and then the bag is empty and you think, “Screw it! It’s too late and I've totally messed up!” and you devour every sweet in the house plus some potato chips for good measure. Within moments you’re filled with shame and self-loathing. You wake up the next morning feeling defeated. What you have just experienced is an “extinction burst”. I think David McRaney described extinction burst perfectly when he writes: “a predictable and common blast of defiance from the recesses of a brain denied familiar rewards.” In this week'

  • How to end a tapping session (Pod #479)

    16/09/2020 Duración: 09min

When we are tapping for a specific issue it can often feel as if there is a small bit of it remaining that we can't quite put our finger on. It seems like a shadow of the issue hanging around in the background, rather than the issue itself. When this happens it is hard to know which phrases to tap on to resolve the last little bit of the issue. In this week's podcast I share the process I use when the SUDs level is at a 2 or less. You can learn it in just 30 seconds and will find it easy to repeat whenever you need it. Support the podcast! Subscribe in: Apple | iPhone | Android | Google | Spotify | Pandora

  • Tapping for Chronic Illness and Pain w/ Dr. Peta Stapleton (Pod #478)

    09/09/2020 Duración: 30min

Chronic issues can be some of the most difficult to address with tapping and EFT because usually there is no obvious root cause. The physical ailments can begin months or even years after the trauma occurred and since it's hard to know when the issue began, we don't have a clear target for our tapping. In this conversation Dr. Peta Stapleton shares why trauma can create chronic issues and how to tap effectively for these issues using their physical symptoms. Her perspective is informed by the early results of the tapping for chronic illness study that she is currently leading. • Why I'm OK with the bad choices I'm making (Pod #477)

    02/09/2020 Duración: 15min

Recently I have changed my mind about making bad choices. Instead of feeling frustrated with myself, I have decided to embrace occasionally making bad choices as long as I make them in a conscious way. Strangely this decision has been helping me to make better, healthier choices! In this week's podcast I explore why I am allowing myself to make poor or unhealthy choices, why it ultimately helps me to make better choices, and I have also included a tap-along to support these choices. • Tapping in less than 10 minutes a day (Pod #476)

    26/08/2020 Duración: 08min

Tapping and EFT are powerful tools that can be used for so many different issues it can be difficult to know exactly where to start. The part of us that wants to get our tapping "exactly right" means that sometimes we don't tap because we want to avoid tapping on the "wrong thing". Over the last few months I have changed the way that I tap to start my day. My process takes less than 10 minutes, but by doing it every morning I ensure that I get my day off on the right foot. Using the process helps to clear my head, gives me a little boost of energy, and makes starting my day a bit easier. In this week's podcast I teach you the simple process I have been using. All you need is a timer (like your mobile phone or watch), a pen, and a piece of paper. Support the podcast! Subscribe in: Apple | iPhone | Android | Google | Spotify | Pandora

  • Tapping To Let Go Of Old Identities (Pod #475)

    19/08/2020 Duración: 15min

When we are describing ourselves (or when others are describing us) we identify with a whole host of different characteristics. You might be known as a hard worker, a caring person, a great wit, or a loyal friend. Some of these characteristics are aspirational, some are from the ways others describe us, and others may have been picked up from our families and cultures of origin. These characteristics aren't bad in themselves because they help us to understand ourselves and often give us something to strive for. But they can become problematic when we use them as the sole measuring stick to judge ourselves, and when we beat ourselves up emotionally for not meeting these frequently unrealistic standards. This week's podcast explores how and why we pick up these identities, how they can be harmful, and also how to tap to release identities that do not serve us. • The Reason Why You Don't Tap More & How To Overcome It (Pod #474)

    12/08/2020 Duración: 16min

Note: This podcast is a part of the Healing Fundamentals series. The topics covered in this series move beyond the basics of tapping to understanding the healing process. By understanding these fundamentals you will be able to get more out of your tapping faster. Make sure you check out the whole series. I like to check in with my email newsletter readers to find out what struggles they are facing with tapping so that I can create the most useful resources possible. The majority of the responses I've received describe a similar problem, described in one of two ways. They are "I never remember to tap" and "I forget to tap in the moment of distress". There are two reasons why this happens. First, building a habit takes time and just because we want to do something regularly doesn't mean we automatically start to do it. In Podcast 201 I teach you easy ways to make tapping a habit. The second reason we don't tap is because there is a subconscious part of us that resists healing. It isn't that we want to suffer,

  • Attachment Trauma v Generational Trauma w/ Mark Wolynn (Pod #473)

    05/08/2020 Duración: 40min

Personally, I think one of the most important discoveries in the study of trauma is the recognition that trauma has the ability to be passed from generation to generation through our genetic code. In the most basic terms it means that if one of our parents has a fear of water because of a traumatic instance in their life it is very likely we will have the same fear because it is in our DNA. The good news is, just because it is in our DNA doesn't mean we are stuck with it forever. It just requires a different approach for the transformation because we don't have a memory to tap on. In my first interview with Mark we talked about how trauma can be passed down through our epigenetics. This time we talk about how to identify if something is a generational trauma or an attachment trauma (something that has happened to us) through recognizing what he calls "trauma language". The language we use to describe our trauma will help us to tell which type it is. Take the time to dive into this one. I would recommend list

  • Not knowing what to say when tapping w/ Nancy Forrester (Pod #472)

    29/07/2020 Duración: 45min

Especially for beginners, and sometimes for more skilled tappers, knowing what to say and where to start is often the part of tapping that trips people up. Just because we recognize the fact that the words themselves aren't magic and that there is no such thing as the perfect tapping phase, does not mean it's easy to start when we are experiencing a lot of mixed emotions all at once. In this conversation Nancy Forester and I talk about a number of approaches and tools that you can use to start your tapping. These will ease you into tapping when you don't know where to begin and also help you to get more out of your tapping sessions each time you sit down. • Why Tapping Works w/ David Feinstein, PhD (Pod #471)

    22/07/2020 Duración: 35min

Receive 50% off Mastering the Art of Delivery by using the coupon code "podcast" http://TappingArtOfDelivery.com The two most common questions asked by those new to tapping are "Does tapping work?" and "How do we know tapping works?" As someone who loves tapping, it's great that I can share my personal first hand experience of tapping, but for some people it just isn't enough. In this conversation David Feinstein and I talk about six criteria to determine whether or not tapping works. Then we move on to what the scientific research has shown as to why tapping works. I believe this information is useful for a couple of reasons. First, when we know how something works, it makes it easier for us to get the most out of the tool. Second, when we know how and why it works, it makes it much easier to explain to others. I think this is an essential conversation for anyone who taps and would like to share tapping with others. • Lessons Learned From Tapping With Clients (Pod #470)

    17/07/2020 Duración: 19min

One of my favorite parts of the tapping community is people's willingness to share their experience and expertise. A few months ago I sent an email to a number of practitioners I admire and asked them if they would be willing to share their wisdom about the following: What lessons have clients taught you about healing? What is something you have changed your mind about when it comes to healing, working with clients, or your own transformation process? If you were to start your own healing journey over again, what would you do differently? What is one thing you wish your clients believed about themselves? What is one thing you wish your clients believed about the healing process? I received some wonderful responses from Kim D'Eramo, Alan Davidson, Jondi Whitis, Robin Bilazarian, Kris Ferraro, Gwyneth Moss, Deborah D Miller, Jake Khym, Tania A Prince, Ange Finn, Nancy Forester, Peta Stapleton, Julie Schiffman, Steve Wells, and Mary Ayers. You can read all their answers (and soak up their wisdom) right here. R

  • Judging My Intention v My Action w/ Tapping (Pod # 469)

    08/07/2020 Duración: 17min

Note: This podcast is a part of the Healing Fundamentals series. The topics covered in this series move beyond the basics of tapping to understanding the healing process. By understanding these fundamentals you will be able to get more out of your tapping faster. Make sure you check out the whole series. When we take an action we usually have an expectation about how it will work out. When I order lunch, my expectation is that the food will be tasty. When I launch a new product in my business, I expect to reach certain sales goals. In addition to the outcome, we also have expectations of how we should feel when we are doing something. On one level it's not enough just to give a good presentation at work, because a part of us wants to feel completely in control and confident while giving that presentation. This situation gives rise to a great deal of negative self-talk. We beat ourselves up in the moment for not doing well enough AND we beat ourselves up after the fact for not meeting our expectations. As well

  • Emotional First Aid for Children w/ Jondi Whitis (Pod #468)

    01/07/2020 Duración: 40min

As someone who knows a lot about tapping, it's natural to want to share that knowledge with others, but sometimes we don't have the opportunity. This is especially true when dealing with a crisis in the moment, when we are working with children, or both. In this podcast Jondi Whitis and I talk about how to approach either of these situations and she shares strategies to avoid over-explaining or attempting to do too much, plus a simple formula for how we can be most helpful in the moment. • Tapping For Feeling Ignored and Dismissed (Pod #467)

    24/06/2020 Duración: 20min

Note: This podcast is a part of the Healing Fundamentals series. The topics covered in this series move beyond the basics of tapping to understanding the healing process. By understanding these fundamentals you will be able to get more out of your tapping faster. Make sure you check out the whole series. One of the human experiences that cuts us the deepest is being ignored or dismissed as unimportant by whose attention we most want. The pain can come from being ignored by our friends, our family, or any one important in our life. On one level, it taps into the primitive fear of being excluded from the safety of our tribe. And on another level, it pushes against our desire to be seen as worthy by others. This week's podcast explores: Why this experience is so painful What story we tell ourselves on an emotional level when we perceive that we are being ignored or dismissed How to tap to manage this experience As you will hear, there are often multiple aspects to this issue, which makes tapping for it tricky.

  • Navigating Troubled Times With The CREATE Method w/ J Nycole Ralph (Pod #466)

    17/06/2020 Duración: 31min

The murder of George Floyd and the ongoing protests at centuries of racial injustice have galvinized many to speak truth more forcefully in their daily lives. One of those people is my friend J Nycole Ralph. As J Nycole was processing her own emotions, she realized that she was being more impacted by the death of another black American AND she wasn't standing up in as powerful a way she wanted to. To that end, she created a process called The CREATE Method. It stands for C – Claim that you feel something R – Recognize the feeling E – Embrace the feeling A – Address the feeling T – Take action E – Educate and Engage In today's podcast, J Nycole walks me through these six steps. As someone who has helped people process their emotions for over a decade, I learned a number of new ideas in this conversation. It is well worth your time. Listen to this. Take notes. Implement the ideas as you are working on and tapping for your issues and struggles. This is timely for this moment, but it is a tool you can use alway
