Attention, Creators: You're worth more than FREE! Some people believe that in order to show your audience that you care about them, you should just give away your stuff for free. I do not think that this is a smart thing to do. Charging for your products and services may seem like a scary proposition, but it is the best way to ensure that you are able to continue creating great content and providing great service. When you give away all your stuff for free, you devalue your work and make it difficult to charge people for what your time and effort are worth. Charging also allows you to focus on creating quality products and services rather than on how to make money from them. Finally, charging encourages others to respect and appreciate your work, which can lead to more opportunities down the line. On the flipside, I don't think you should be 100% transactional with people.
