In 2015, President Higgins became Patron of “Yeats 2015”, a yearlong festival marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Nobel Prize winning poet. President Higgins addressed a gathering in Sligo, the spiritual home of W.B. Yeats, organised to mark the 150th anniversary of the poet's birthday. As part of the festival, the President read “A Prayer For My Daughter”.
