Alain Johannes is one of the great musicians of our time. From working closely with Chris Cornell to playing guitar in Them Crooked Vultures alongside Josh Homme and John Paul Jones or touring the world with PJ Harvey, he always brings a unique character and excellence to everything he is involved with. His two solo records ‘Spark’ and ‘Fragments & Wholes, Vol. 1.” are brilliant and showcase both his voice and virtuosity as a guitar player. I sat down with Alain to discuss inhabiting the emotional space of each of his songs, bootlegging his own albums, avoiding red light fever and living in this current moment on planet earth.
