Legislators Continue Committee Work in Pre-Session Prep By Govt. Affairs Dir. Jack Hebert, Gen. Counsel Paul Lambert and Asst. Gen. Counsel Kim Driggers Tallahassee, Friday, February 10, 2017 – Florida lawmakers returned to Tallahassee this week, and will do so again over the next two weeks, for committee meetings in preparation for their annual 60-day lawmaking session slated to begin on March 7th. Full agendas are now more apparent as individual member bills are starting to be heard in addition to agency annual reports. Also the Governor’s recently released 2017-18 state budget recommendations are dominating spending discussions. Health care issues will once again be prominently featured in this year’s deliberations as the changing winds in Washington force state lawmakers to take another look at how they will approach the needs of their citizens.
