Sinopsis

After our discussion of the role of Shakespeare in the academy from a scholarly angle, what do we make of his place in the classroom? Geoff, Michael, and Devori discuss the role Shakespeare plays in teaching, both in Shakespeare/early modern classes, and in others? How do we “use” Shakespeare as a tool? To what extent does the teaching of Shakespeare provide job security? What can/should we learn from the Shakespearean model of education? For those of us who teach Shakespeare AND composition, what can each learn from the other?
