Maybe you've heard the term ‘worship wars.’ Beginning in the 70’s and 80’s churches began moving from organs, choirs and hymnals to guitars, bands and projection screens in order to reach a changing culture. But not everyone liked the change. Lines were drawn. Churches split. People fought for their preferred musical expression as if it were commanded by Jesus himself. But all of this missed one of the most vital reasons about why Christians sing at all. “Whoever dubbed the debate over musical style a ‘worship war,’” Mike Cosper once penned, "failed to realize that worship is always a war.’ As we continue our series on King David, we will learn that Cosper is right.
