Our guests Emilio, Fatima, and Joel, volunteer EMTs with Brentwood Legion Ambulance joined us to share their experiences and stories. Emilio has worked with four other departments and began his training at the age of 15, and at the age of 18, he became an EMT-b. Fatima is a newer member and went in depth about the culture of the department and shared a story of a horrible experience and how she was able to overcome that with the help of her friends within the department. Along with volunteering as an EMT Joel also volunteers as a medical screener for Outward Bound Schools, a nonprofit organization based in NYC.
