The disciples of John asked Jesus a question, "Why don't your disciples fast"? There question was very presumptuous to say the least. They as well as the Pharisees assumed they had a correct and proper form of Godliness that all should observe. So they thought to challenge Jesus with this question since His disciples did not fast.
