It has been an interesting 2 weeks. We have witnessed an Impeachment and Acquittal and are witnessing the effects of the coronavirus on our economy. Within the oil and gas industry, we have begun to see a decrease in oil prices due to the coronavirus. Flights are being canceled, less transportation is available, and numerous facilities are shutting down – all affecting the price of oil. College Football Season has sadly come to a close. There were many prestigious predictions that came unraveling throughout the season. We discuss the final outcome, place more bets, and of course have more controversy that arises!

Forecasting….what’s that?! It’s hard to determine a forecast with the way the market has been fluctuating. There has been continuous destocking and various price increases within the last couple of weeks. We continue to forecast a steady to slow growth throughout 2020. It’s the start of a new year with hopes the market has hit the bottom. Supply is more in balance with demand, but the rig count can’t seem to hold steady. Tension has developed in the Middle East causing oil prices to increase. We will continue to watch how the next couple of weeks play out in regards to stability and activity in the Middle East. Optimism! It’s been a while since we have heard that word. A few rigs are being added, DUCs are declining, capacity is coming out of the market, there isn’t a bottleneck in the Permian, these are just a few things that are helping the market reach the bottom.
