This Sunday we focus on Psalm 126. It is a psalm of remembering the good God has done, and also asking Him to restore joy even in the midst of suffering. Only in Christ can joy be produced out of suffering.

In our second week of our Songs for the Road series we look at Psalm 122. This Psalm highlights the importance of gathering to worship God together.

We start our summer series with Psalm 121, where we learn where our true help comes from. Psalm 121 helps us understand our anticipation AND assurance of help that God gives us. 

Today is a stand alone sermon about the command of Jesus to experience a second spiritual birth after our physical birth. This second birth is from God and is the place from which we grow into mature Christ followers.

We are in week 6  and the final sermon of our series At the Table. We will be looking at Mark 16:9-16 where the resurrected Jesus causes disruption, challenges His disciples, and then gives them clarity of what to do next. He commands them to go and preach the good news, so that people may believe and be baptized.

Half way through our "at the table" Series, We take a small detour from meals and explore what the Psalmist means when he writes "Taste and see that the Lord is Good".

We will be looking at Matthew 22, where Jesus uses a story of a wedding feast to illustrate the Kingdom of Heaven. In it we see King, God the Father, inviting anyone and everyone to the Wedding Feast of the Son, Jesus. Those who refuse are stuck in pride of their religious effort. Those who say yes go immediately, and they must allow the King to provide the wedding garments. In this we see a vivid picture of being dressed in the righteousness of Christ to be welcomed into His presence.

We are in week 3 of our series At the Table. We will be looking at Mark 14 where Jesus is having a meal and a woman bursts in and dumps perfume on him. Not long after this Jesus delivers the first Communion to His disciples. Through both of these we see God taking actions that seem like a waste (the perfume, the sacrifice of Jesus) and transforming them into acts of extravagant love.

We are in week 2 of our series At the Table. We will look at Jesus' first miracle in John 2 where he turns water into wine at a wedding. If I was launching Jesus' ministry for Him, this is not the way I would have done it. It would have been flashier and in a more famous location... but what it shows us, is that Jesus' cares deeply about all aspects of our lives. It is only His presence that can bring about a transformation in our own lives, just as He can change plain water into magnificent wine.

We are starting a new sermon series this week called At the Table. We will spend 6 weeks looking at different moments Jesus was at a table for meals, and when he used the table as a teaching illustration. This will be so we can continue to get to know Jesus better and how He would have us live. This week is in Matthew 9, where Jesus calls Matthew and clarifies His purpose in coming, to save sinners.

This Good Friday and Easter Sunday we will be looking at how Jesus' death and resurrection help us walk through fear. He is risen forever!

The greatest Friday in history. Because of Jesus' death we never have to fear God and hide away from Him. Fear imprisons us, Jesus' death frees us.

Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday is a celebrated day and it reveals how we sometimes fail to follow Jesus when he doesn't meet our expectations, however Jesus will always keep his promises and focus on what is most important.

In Joshua 24 we see the final farewell speech Joshua gives at the end of his life. He challenges the people of God to firmly choose if they will serve God and be faithful to Him alone. It's a reminder to us to daily choose to follow Christ and His design for life.

In Joshua 23 we see the first of two farewell speeches Joshua gives at the end his life. He charges the leaders to be obedient, faithful, and loving towards God. And the legacy Joshua leaves is one of faithfulness. May we leave such powerful legacies for those who come after us.

In Joshua 20 we see the heart of God on display, mandating cities of refuge to create safety for human life. Anyone who committed an accidental death of another human being could flee to these cities for trial and once the High Priest died could safely go home. It is a picture of how Christ our Great High Priest has died for us so that we may always find refuge in Him.

If left unchecked, we will grow more cynical as we age. Caleb comes to us with an example of how to live in such a way that a cynical attitude does not grow stronger in us.

This week we learn about how the Gibeonites tricked the Israelites into pardon all because the Children of God did not pray and seek council. But even in our mistakes, God is still Good and brings restoration to both the Gibeonites and the Israelites.
