Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." It's about staying focused on God. It's easy for us to get distracted by so many things, but we must use as much discipline as possible in order to meditate (reflect, ponder, think) on the things of the Lord. Do you know that no matter what you may be going through, you can encourage yourself in the Lord? And the Lord will give you the strength and power you need in order to get through? Yes, He will do it. He did it for David when David probably found it difficult to understand how he would endure. But, guess what? God was with him and God blessed him too. There are so many things I love about David. One of those things is that he encouraged himself in the Lord beyond the challenging circumstances he found himself in (1 Samuel 30:6). Have you ever heard the parable about the workers in the vineyard? It comes from Matthew 20:1-16 and the message should be clear to us that the Lord will bless whom He wants to bless any time He chooses to. Do we love the Lord with all our heart? Do we honor and praise Him? Are we remaining steadfast in our faith? Than if we are, there we go. There we have it. God is no respecter of persons and He will bless whom He wants to bless, right? So stay true to Him and watch what He does in your life, He will bless you, yes you. Do you know that when you're walking with the Lord, you're walking tall? I know it's not always easy in this world to walk with Christ, because so many things come against us, right? Yet here's the thing, we must continue to walk strong and continue to take refuge in Him no matter what comes our way. He is constant, steady, reliable, and consistent. And He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, which helps make our walk doable. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, "for we walk by faith, not by sight." Do you know that when God says you're blessed, you're blessed? Do you know that when God's promises are yes and amen, there are some great things in store for you? Do you know you're going to go where it is He said you would go? Yes, you will get there, so don't grow all weary and throw in the towel. Have faith and believe God at His Word, ok? For, His Word never comes back void or empty. John 3:30 says it's about decreasing as the Lord increases in our lives. God is where goodness and mercy endures forever. When we walk with Him, we walk in His glorious light. And when we walk with Him, we are forgiven. In other words, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:8/9). 1 John 1 is a great reminder that we are to look no further when it comes to knowing where our love and the glorious light is, which shines so bright on us. This is just another reminder that although we all fall short, God still loves us and we have to keep going forward regardless. Yes, we've all made bad decisions that some of us call mistakes, yet we can't let them stop us from moving to where it is God wants to take us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, He has great and awesome plans for us, because He wants us to have a hope and a prosperous future. And He knows that although we may not have gotten it all right, we are all His children nevertheless and He wants the best for. Did you know that when you're in Christ, you have the heart of a godly champion? That means you can take maximum pressure and come right back after that pressure. That means you can push yourself like an Olympic athlete and act as though it were no big deal -- business as usual. Remember David when he went against the giant, Goliath in 1 Samuel 17? David already knew he would win before the battle (or lack thereof), began. He trusted the Lord coming and going. He was a champion for Christ. God wants us to go out of our way to connect with Him. I don't mean pray only when things get tough. I'm talking about praying without ceasing, which means on-going communication with God. Yes we can all make the time to strive to open ourselves up to the Lord. It's something each one of us can dedicate our lives to. Jesus said, “you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37). We can all strive to do that no matter what is going on in our lives, right? Right. Do you know you are more than a conqueror through Christ? That's right. That means you're more than a winner, you're more than a victor, and you're more than a champion. So, we have to continue having faith that God will bring us through anything we may be going through. We can overcome any situation, because of the God we serve -- the God who lives in us -- and the God who loves us. He will always be there for us. In other words, we have already won the battle, we have already won the victory, yet this is the thing though: we can't give up that faith to the enemy. We can't give up and just run away from what is in front of us. We have to go forward, because God has got us covered. Romans 8:37-39 says so. Do you know that it doesn't matter what comes our way, we will prevail? Yes, because when we know the promises the Lord God has made over our lives, we will make it. We can’t concern ourselves with nonsense, negativity, or vindictiveness. We have to stay focused on truth, positivity, and forgiveness. Jesus stood for those great things, because He was love and walked in love (1 John 4). How are you feeling today? Are you feeling rejuvenated in your spirit? Downcast? Upbeat? Low? Excited? Defeated? Victorious? Ecclesiastes 7:14 says, "When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future." In other words, we can't take one or the other for granted. Zechariah 4 is a reminder that with the Lord God, we can get over anything that is in our way. Do you have anything standing in the way of progress or greatness that God has promised you? What are your needs? What are your wants? What are your desires? God will ensure any mountain in front of you, is moved out the way. When we focus on Him and what He wants for us, His plans will be established for us. When there's a mountain in our way, He wants us to rely on Him. This is just a reminder to keep seeking God no matter what comes your way and do not worry about yesterday, today, or tomorrow. I tell you that, because there was a time a few years back when I didn't seek God for my troubles or challenges. I gave my energy and my sorrows to the enemy, but not anymore. Today is a new day and I know to whom I can rely on -- God. Matthew 6:25-33 is proof. Do you know God wants you to take everything you went through to show people who He is? Do you know your testimony means something to somebody and your life means something too? Do you know your struggles were not just for you, but to help people get through their pain? It's all to show people how God brought you out of despair and how He can and will bring others out of their low too. If you went through it, God has a bigger message for you to bring others through it too. Yes you. God wants to use you. 1 Peter 1:6/7 is proof. "Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them. So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel" (Matthew 15:29-31). What do you need from the Lord today? Whatever it is, do you know He can heal whatever ails you? It doesn't matter if it's emotional, mental, or physical, Jesus can do it. In Isaiah 54, Isaiah speaks to how the Lord God is going to redeem Israel. The scripture starts with the barren woman, which describes Israel and its failure after failure and turning its back away from God. God gives them another chance though, to get things right with Him. He wants to pour out blessings to them and He wants to redeem them. Steadfast -- that's a great word for the people who are determined, unstoppable, unmovable, and unshakable when it comes to having faith, serving, and staying true to the Lord God. We can't let life's struggles, pain, challenges, hurt, setbacks, and sorrow stop us from knowing God doesn't give any of us more than we can handle. He's with us every step of the way, because He still has a great plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).
